  1. whoa-- 132 to 133 --- not Strange Tales though THORRY! I mean-- it is a strange tale in and of itself though. I have ST 133 - but my copy is rough and this is a neat direction to cruise over to....
  2. Growing up and having access to these covers from a news stand--- hard to beat oops-- that is dead girl art (DGA) not good girl art
  3. For some reason when I see that cover I think of Meet the Fockers "I have nipples, Greg. Can you milk me?"
  4. Sorry to hear of your troubles-- especially considering the value involved. I can honestly say that I have not had any troubles with USPS this year. I am in AZ. I'm not sending high dollar comics just low weight stuff mostly or things in priority mail. I think results vary sometimes based on luck and in other cases on where you are sending the item. In the past-- I have had some packages get seemingly lost. I used the online USPS system to initiate a search and they found the item and got it delivered. In other cases-- it was lost and they paid me for the item from postal insurance.
  5. Let me ask though-- as I was not aware that every iteration of armor has a name-- what was this nippled version from #100 called?
  6. (Any chance to show M.O.D.O.K. kicking his arse!) For reasons mostly because of what he looked like in the first issue I ever read, I would go with whatever armor this is called. Then again-- I'm not a huge Iron Man fan. He's cool-- a great character -- but for some reason I never got totally into him. Not meaning to offend hard core Iron Man fans--- you pick what you like when your young and you stick with it. Not that I never read his books- I did - but it was not my favorite. He always felt like something less than the others in Marvel. Brilliant and amazing to develop what he did. But in the end-- a man at heart. As a kid-- I desired the fantasy of the super-hero. He is sort of Marvel's version of Batman to me-- in the game because he is rich and smart. I know some people compare Batman to Daredevil a lot but DD has powers. Batman and technically Tony Stark do not-- short of that ill-advised quip by Afleck's portrayal "I'm rich". I am amazed at how they have developed the armor and stuff over the course of the series-- and he is so much more entertaining to me in the MCU movies. Clearly the technology portion of his armor have been greatly helped by advances in CGI and other movie tricks.
  7. Interesting--- even happier now that I figured out where it was. I'm a bit of a Kirby fanatic - like so many of us Marvel Silver Age collectors.
  8. Not sure why I said 8.0 - it is graded to a 6.0 Boom! Finally found it after getting inspired by the lost book thread on Comics General. It was simply misplaced in the box - out of position next to Thor165 instead of tucked between it's 176-178 buddies.
  9. holy cow-- I must have been inspired and looked inside the box it was supposed to be in--- it was there but filed next to 165 for whatever reason. Did a quick scan to complete my image file and refiled in the proper place leaving the small post it note on it that says "missing 177" found it! woo hoo!
  10. A book I have had since ~1977 - Thor 177 - and I know I still have as it is in every version of my printed (1970s, 80s, & 90s) and on line collection (initially put together in 2014 when I was re-bagging and boarding at the same time). So it has to be there but somehow when I was imaging all my books-- I could not find it. Now -- it has to be there somewhere-- iI have notes on it and even gave it a grade. I either misplaced it into some other box or some other crazy thing happened. It is the kind of thing that can drive you crazy. I refuse to just sort through my whole collection-- though it is nothing crazy big like some of the folks here (about 1950 books). But anytime I see that hole in my image file where it goes from 176 to 178 -- I get a little more upset. Stay tuned to when it boils over into some collection wide search.
  11. just thought of something-- that is two issues in a row of Daredevil where they featured a newspaper headline on the cover.
  12. Stilt Man as a group attacker to the featured fight
  13. this one was posted in the Fantastic Four appreciation thread over in the Silver Age by @comic_memories - I think it is May 12 1964
  14. I thought the nature of the pulp used for the interior pages made them susceptible to heat browning those pages-- and also the impact of certain plastic bags too.
  15. one special ancient shield to an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
  16. ture-- and much cheaper ungraded typically. Of course-- you can always suscribe if you want to simply read it. It is all good- crazy that this thread popped up again.
  17. Henry R. Luce, American magazine publisher who built a publishing empire on Time, Fortune, and Life magazines I recognized the name having worked for Time in the 1990s
  18. ok-- but is this legit? Seems fake as hell https://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-Frankenstein-fights-Captain-America-Comic-Book-hand-signed-STAN-LEE-seal/373126094929?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140127103305%26meid%3Df314603aee0340a3b2c7f85e5288ca1c%26pid%3D100149%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D293747410098%26itm%3D373126094929%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2059216%26algv%3DSimplAMLv5PairwiseWeb&_trksid=p2059216.c100149.m2821&autorefresh=true
