  1. It seems like a very minor printing error - hardly worth getting excited about in general. Even if super rare-- it is a defect, not a variant or something special to covet imo. It should have no impact on grading beyond reaching 9.6 and above
  2. my copy-- never heard of this. DO you have a sample image to share?
  3. Sue all sick to Sue appearing back to normal - at least on the upper corner location or is this too transparent?
  4. found this one offered on ebay with an interesting store stamp on the back of a missing back cover no less..... "George's Comic Shop" in Brooklyn. No doubt some of our board members have heard of it and even frequented the joint. Wonder what it was like?
  5. so many threads on this in these forums--- you might find these interesting... if you were using the forum search-- better results using google and adding CGC forums to whatever query And to answer the question--- yes-- I actively cut/tore/ripped out stampsfrom comics like the 10 year old mad man I was .... eve even series B Frankly-- I feel it was incredibly silly for Marvel to basically ask fans to cut up their own copies - for basically nothing. Ultimately a kids fault but so sad that they pushed this program EXACTLY when I was starting collecting. Same thing goes for Pin Ups -- which dates back to the earliest silver age super hero books. and if somehow you have not seen this website before.... http://www.mvstamps.com/
  6. spidey versus a golden villian to spidey battling a yellow clad Dardevil
  7. Most of our toy store type trips were just hanging out in the toy aisle at a KMart or Sears. Later-- in addition to collecting comics -- I was really into AFX/Tyco slot cars. I started out with match box-- then hot wheels -- then SSTs - then Sizzlers -- and finally went the major hobby route and had several (probably about 6) track sets-- along with found tracks and finding cars where I could. One day, I noticed a store called "Frank's Hobby " (I may be mixing this name up with some shop a co-workers father owned later on) -- anyway-- it was awesome. Tons of toys, trains, slot cars, models - so much stuff. They had a case with 100s of AFX cars to pick from. Now understand that the cars themselves are fairly standard-- you are paying for the decorative plastic car that set on the base engine frame. I can't even recall how much these cars cost-- but I ended up with maybe 5 or 8 from the store. Plus they had cool stuff like replacement tires for the cars (they would wear out). My entire collection made it down to Florida. A few years later, my mom asked me if I wanted to sell them in a garage sale she was having. I was sort of over it-- but man-- I really wish I had at least held onto the cars. They get quite a nice chunk of change for them these days.
  8. and it is on it's way to me-- won the auction
  9. What a really nice gesture turning your personal win into a contest/prize for the other members of the board. However it pans out--- congratulations on your fantastic registry set! Hope it goes well! Not an entry-- just a friendly comment.
  10. Not to hate on people who have multiples--- but I do get jealous of pictures like this sometimes. I think I have been trying to get ANY COPY of ST 1 & 2 for so long. Then to see this along with other coveted books like DD 1, DS 169 and MT 1-- sort of frustrating. Not that I can afford any of these issues-- it is just the abundance that is sort of a burn to others. It also makes me think-- WHY? Why do I want these things so badly? And to that point-- perhaps I should just be happy for you and people like you who have worked so hard to be able to show a picture like that instead. Huzzah! Great job!
  11. Call me skeptical, but that rocket blast scheme seems iffy... well if you look at the very fine print on the left-- it says an updated version of the Baxter Building was coming soon. Did that ever happen? I've also always wondered why it was named the Baxter Building.
  12. I recall @strawman had a Fury thread a couple of years ago among many others- and it was nothing but 9.2+ book after book.
  13. Gala 100th Issue to Mighty Marvel Masterwork issue 101
  14. @silversufer27 just a thought-- you can't delete but you can edit the title and contents to something like ".", save it, and then in the options use the hide option. I will do the same for mine
