  1. If you're suggesting a "perfect storm," that suggest to me you want all of these things together. But you're unlikely to get #5 if #2 is already the case. Your best bet is recognizing that the team has talent which the collecting community hasn't fully recognized yet. Given the criteria, Outcast by Kirkman and Azaceta is one recent book that comes closest to filling the criteria. Speculators jumping on a low print run book, buying all copies they can see online, then hyping on their own websites creating desirability. Wash, rinse, repeat. The lemmings mentality and some just eat it up. examples? Does anybody really care about combo variants? Yes. Just because you do not, doesn't make it any less collectible to me. I love the damn things and I smile every time I get one in the mail.
  2. Has a Book of Death thread been started? Until this past weekend, I had not read a Valiant specific title in a couple of DECADES. Until now. The good news is as follows: 1) I enjoyed it. Quite a bit actually. 2) It was "The Valiant" TPB which is directly tied to the just released Book of Death series 3) $9.99 cover price for a new edition so it's not like you're breaking the bank. Used would be even cheaper (obviously) 4) There is no bad news. Now I'm looking forward to reading the BoD floppies to see what happens from here. If you're on the fence or just have no idea of what's going on with BoD, "The Valiant" is the BEST place to start. It'll fill in the holes like "where the hell did that Geomancer come from" and "what the hell is a Geomancer" and why is the Eternal Warrior such a *spoon* fighter against this particular evil.
  3. I like almost all music but I'm an old metal head. You could probably stumop me with a lot of stuff METAL!!!!! I'm with you man (thumbs u
  4. Dear The Authority, Didn't you get the memo? Miles Morales is going to fail because he already has. According to some, he doesn't even deserve the opportunity to succeed in another medium, such as movies, because his titles don't sell enough (like ASM's Peter Parker version). Therefore, he should be banished from comic books forever (I might be reading previous comments incorrectly, but there's enough negativity in them for me to jump to this conclusion). Essentially, it seems as if Miles Morales is not worthy to carry on the Spider-Man legacy if Peter Parker was to "retire" or be "killed off". There is only one Spider-Man and his name is Peter Parker! To which I say (as a white dude whether that matters or not) - bullsh!t. Miles Morales is an interesting character with a ton of potential to become something other than a minority super hero. If done correctly, he can become to us what Peter Parker has: A hero.
  5. Bravo! Thanks to you and everyone else that has posted in order to help noob shippers have an idea on how to ship securely (me, soon). Much appreciated!
  6. I just started using an Epson V600 on my iMac and I love it! Fast scans (to include preview scans), uploaded'able' to iPhoto, great scans. Very excited to do a sales thread one day and use scans and not my Galaxy Note 4 (which takes awesome pictures BTW)! Or maybe a mixture of both. Options are great!
  7. Fantastic!!! Really looking forward to see what's in store for Gwen
  8. Love it! Fantastic cover, 1st appearance, kicka$$ sidekick, X-23 appearance. What's not to like? Also, what a GREAT story! You thought it was bad? I mean, her first comic book job is to go into the Punisher's "lair" and steal from him. Then she whoops him in hand to hand combat (he had just woken up though). To be fair, that d-bag that's with her did ruin the story prior to the creature and X-23's appearance. I hope he perished when thrown out of the window. Still, stealing from the Punisher in your 1st appearance is pretty bad . She's the perfect thief (that's what they created her to be). Lots of potential for a stand-alone book in my opinion.
  9. X-Men: Years of Future Past has a new 1st appearance that seems to be flying under the radar. Maybe.
  10. I really enjoyed X-Men: Years of Future Past and the introduction (i.e. undeniable first appearance) of Christina Pryde, Colussus and Kitty Pryde's daughter. This is what is stated on Comic Vine's write up on her: "Daughter of Kate Pryde and Colossus from the Years Of Future Past zone on Battleworld. Chrissie was the last mutant born before mass sterilization of the mutant race and is considered somewhat of a iconic figure among her people." Anyone else read or "speculating" on this character? She's pretty awesome! I enjoyed the book a lot and that's saying something because I do not read X-Men titles. Picked up because my LCS owner told me about it.
  11. Got my TPB from TFAW and I'm back on issue 3. Awesome!!!
  12. And? You're in a "Collector's Society" web site What do you expect? To talk about football and muscle cars? Nerd.
  13. Picked up the following today from Graham Crackers: A-Force #1 Molina 1:25 variant: $9 A-Force #1 Hans 1:25 variant: $9 Vengeance #1: 2 copies @ $4 each Hopefully they are in stock and the condition is actually VF/NM instead of Fine+/VF- like they sometimes are. We'll see
  14. Ordered (1) All-New Point One from Graham Cracker - Looks to be Fine+ (even though in the "description" says VF/NM). Pd $7 for 2 med/lg color breaking spine ticks. Ouch Ah well. Win some, lose some.
  15. Yeah, it's been ridiculous. Hopefully with their horror titles now being 'organized', the times between issues will decrease (especially Afterlife and Sabrina).
  16. Those are the Pepoy Archie's. Pretty sure Zenescope exists solely because the panty variants are actually the regular edition. The variants don't need 'em. And they sell like hotcakes when they're offered up on the Modern B/S/T thread! I understand why...but it still amazes me
  17. There's no DL on this one 'cause there's only one on the 'bay Game over man, GAME OVER!!!
  18. I diversified with some Enormous and Five Ghosts What up Nate?
  19. I agree! New 52 Batman pulled me back in Aug 2013 after 20 years out. Had to buy back issues, additional printings and variants. I'm about 5 variants from being caught up for a full run (except for sketch variants). I wish nothing but prosperity for every collector and speculator. Unfortunately, that won't be the case a majority of the time. I'll continue to buy what I want to buy.
