  1. I hadn't heard about this, but then I didn't even know there was a character named flamingo until about 1 minute ago
  2. well justice league is cover dated a month before superman and 2 months before batman so maybe?
  3. I looked at the prices. That's breaking even or losing money. Few are making $10. Not worth selling now. I have been watching these for 2 days. If it is sealed they are selling between 175-200. A couple of days ago you could get them for around 130 from Brookstone with a groupon. But now everywhere appears to be sold out. I am not sure if Sphero is planning to ship more but if they don't these things will sell for much more leading up to Christmas. Of course Sphero is going to ship more. This is not a limited release item, it is a toy that will be everywhere in time for Christmas. Notice how all the Hasbro Star Wars action figures were snatched up as well. TRU has a lot of The Force Awakens merchandise, but little to no Star Wars action figures. This is exactly like the first release of a new iPhone, XBox, Playstation, hot toy, etc. The first releases always sell out and in 2-3 months, these BB8 will be available everywhere. If you are impatient and need it now, you will spend more for it. If you are patient, you'll get it for retail or less. I never understood the "need it now" crowd, but that crowd ensures their will be ample supply of hot items in the future as the companies ramp up production to meet the demand. I worked at TRU the year PS3 and Wii were released. You could make some serious bank on PS3's that holiday season, like triple their cost. Part of its reason was sure it was a new system but the blu ray player in was top notch, like an industry leader and a stand alone BR player with the same specs as the one in the PS3 was like 1800, which is what people were getting out of the PS3 at launch. but yeah if people can wait just a bit, then things will be cheaper
  4. So he was announced as the new hulk? I kept seeing that in listings but wasn't sure what it was talking about as I don't follow Marvel
  5. The last thing I read (was in July) was Herbie Hancock's autobiography called Possibilities. A great read, well if you like jazz and want a nice inside look into a major innovator of the art.
  6. I wanted to see if this sort of thing happens on amazon. I went on the amazon seller forum and found that Amazon itself would not be possible to do this with, but it looks like it does happen to the marketplace sellers, so not even amazon is exempt from the buy, replace with old/broken, and return to keep the new product
  7. I don't know exactly when it went up so much but I do know that while thumbing through last years OSPG it was still showing it at $3.99 but it could be the book hadn't even caught up to it yet. my guess from an old article I found written last year the book was less than it is now, but not just barely above cover either. I haven't purchased this years OSPG so I don't know what it is listed at now. No matter though people are showing they are willing to pay.
  8. I had contemplated trying to work back and get some pre 52 bats and was looking at some lots but then saw what this book was doing and grabbed one before it got way too high for a modern book. One questionable auction up right now at $50( no defined grade) and the rest of th BINs at 75-100. It's a pretty crazy time to be buying this book
  9. I thought for sure someone would have said I use short boxes by now. I too have used books and boxes to fill up the space.
  10. sales will now have the "requires immediate payment" clause like those that can be added on buy it now ebay sales. I once heard George Carlin say he did all his grocery shopping out of other people's carts. It's not theirs until the money has been given. Then everyone can start refunding people paypal claims or returning checks becasue the other person paid faster.
  11. The last thing I read was a Miles Davis visual biography. While it did have lots of pictures there was actually enough reading in it. Before that it was some other jazz history book.
  12. I haven't watched a comic movie in a real long time, but this one sounds worth it
  13. Now if this thread disappears today , it probably is a conspiracy
  14. I'll nominate myself for #20. That will ensure I never decide to change my mind on buying comics again. Will save the bit of money I have
  15. I really enjoy the show though have missed the whole 2nd season as I always forget its on and when I do remember, its not on that day or its delayed and I go to sleep. I'll just wait on the blu rays.
  16. My store had manifest destiny too still but I think she must hate indy books as everything else is bagged and boarded except image titles which are on a wire rack and all bent in half. In fact the MD 1s that were there were now at a 90 degree angle
  17. Hi all my name is Chad. I thought I wanted to collect comics but I don't think so now. Bye all
  18. yep probably my favorite cover designs too
  19. I am sad that there is such a delay as the ads and all of the little news articles really made me connect with the story, as it could be a real story. I really like the covers too. As long as its not like that ultimate hulk vs wolverine book delay, I think I would be okay.
