I hope someone can create a real useful and informative app for comic collecting then all the grunts on the board can rip it apart and scare them away from here.

I have been doing this for 3 decades, and when i ask for a million, $750,000 is usually all i get. I know how this game works trust me.

Being that i work in film and television and work at a studio everyday, people like this suck. We have to sign confidentiality clauses and sign a stack of paperwork so ridicululous before each job and then some shmo sneaks in and posts it on facebook for all the world too see. Don't you think i wouldnt like to show a pic on facebook showing how i built a million dollar set for $750,000 in the course of 8 days to my friends once in awhile? But no, some shmo pizza delivery guy gets to post it or sell the picture to deadline instead. Real nice.

Leave the poor guy alone, he created a useful app about the industry you are all involved in and wants to spread the word about it. No need to be a bunch of about it.

Same thing i read everyday, scripts for the latest episode of The Blacklist and Bull we are shooting, and the 35 revisions per day that i get emailed daily. We had 3 revisions since i started writing this alone.

I have 3 kids...girls actually.. you think i have time to go to the movies? And if i do, they don't want to see thor.....

I just got offered the job for season 2 and i had to turn it down because im too busy with 2 other shows. Kinda sucks, i would have loved to do the marvel shows

I built the box above for my slabs to keep in my closet, each drawer has a key lock and i have 2 drawers for storage on the bottom

That is somewhat like what i built but i built locks into it. I keep it in my closet so its not as fancy though. ill try to post a pic, i posted it in the comic room thread a year ago or so but i cant find it.

Hey by the way, if anyone wants to work in Tv or movies (as a carpenter/grip/set dresser/prop/electrician) i highly recommend applying to my union, Local 52 I.A.T.S.E. We build all the movies & tv shows in NY. NY is so busy now that they cannot find enough people to fill positions (i.e. when i call the union hall and tell them they need more carpenters, most of the time they tell me to bring anyone in, because they cant find enough people to fill the positions, even all the applicants are working.). NY has 55 productions going on right now and i don't see it slowing down. Just by applying to the union you can find yourself working for a year straight, maybe more (i have applicants with me ive kept for 3 years.) Yup, that was my dads job., i worked on it for 3 weeks when my show went on hiatus. That was one of the biggest jobs in NY at the time, and the set for that was amazing.

Im the construction coordinator (Im the one in charge of building the sets) on 2 hit shows, one for NBC (made by Sony) and one for CBS. Ive been in the business for almost 25 years, 3rd generation, and my father has been/is one of the biggest construction coordinators in NY for the past 40 years. The last comic related thing he ran was The Tick a few months ago.

Pretty cool, welcome to my world, tv land. We have research and clearance people in the art dept on every show to make sure everything is perfect down to the last detail. And you have to get every single thing that shows on camera cleared first (You cant just throw any random comic or piece of artwork on set, it has to get clearance first, we've been held up many times because a picture was hanging on the wall that didnt get cleared). A LOT of work to get these shows made. And not to toot my own horn, but you can catch my name in the end credits of 2 shows every week, Blacklist on NBC and Bull on CBS

My dad is the construction coordinator on this show, they are filming the last episode now. Most of my crew is there until Blacklist starts shooting again.

Where's the titties?

I never knew Jaws was based on something that happened at the jersey shore, and I grew up at the jersey shore. My dad worked on this movie before I was even born, he has some old pics of the sets (well they were basically pools) they built in the 70's for it.
