  1. And here's mine..! Er, oops, I don't have that one :tonofbricks:wish I did, awesome cover, nice copies gents!
  2. Btw, anyone know if that Pep Comics 28 went to anyone on the boards at Clink last week? Congrats to whoever scooped that up!
  3. this is a nice pick up, and a war cover to boot. A copy was in the last HA signature auction, but I passed to obtain a hard to find romance grail of mine, and a scarce pre code crime book. One day though. Mean time I can admire yours (thumbs u
  4. Nice piece! And signed to boot! You should get it framed.
  5. Thank you. The one's you mentioned are nice too. I like the no.2(black cover)also. CC has one ending in their auction this week...so i'll see . Did you change your avatar? New one's cool too.
  6. Thanks dude! Not a common issue, funny how some of these books can take years to track down. But all in the thrill of the chase!
  7. nice acquisition. The similarities between Timelys Angel and MLJs Wizard(second costume) are striking. The only two mustashed(?) heroes of the golden age. Probably influenced by the screen idols of the time(Gable, Tyrone Power, Flynn). What puzzles me is DC sued for Wonder Man and Capt Marvel, while the Angel and The Wizard 'swiped' Superman's color scheme(blue tights AND red cape)...and nothing!?! Or did they have a beef with this too?
  8. Love this red cover featuring Fox's 'Big 3(on what else? Big 3!!
  9. i like, I like! Wish this thread had the rabid updates like the a Timely one does, but.... . Still do my part to keep it bumped up every once in a while. That's a neat Archie cover Point Five (thumbs u
  10. Very nice presenting copy. (thumbs u +1, congrats. Love this cover! Thanks! I was very happy to come across this copy. It seems like presentable early Fox issues with Joe Simon or Lou Fine covers are becoming increasingly difficult to find. I'm shocked at how Fox Comics in general seem to have gotten more difficult to find. Compared to 5-10 years ago, I see far fewer Weird Comics, Wonderworlds, Science Comics, Fantastic Comics or Mystery Men on ebay or dealer sites. I can understand the classic covers getting snapped up and staying in permanent collections, but even run-of-the-mill issues seem to be much tougher today. Wonder why that is? "Toughest are the ones you can't find............" I am fortunate to put together the pre-war Fox books. Consistent nice covers on most of the books, especially the late numbers by Patenude Freakin' AWESOME!!
  11. I was eying that, but passed as CLink is closing and I have my eye on something there too. Nice pick up buddy!
  12. Somebody had a GREAT weekend good hunting there!
  13. Doll face Dimples.....we love you! Where ever you are!
  14. eagle eyes! With out the flashing smile, you can almost miss her on Girls Romances(but the dimples are there).
  15. Movie stars were used frequently on romance covers, adds a mystique to its rarity.
  16. As I'm sure you savvy MLJ collectors may(or may not) know, HA has a nice selection of HARD to find Blue Ribbon Comics/Mr. Justice covers ending in their Sunday night auction this week. I have a lot of these( so I won't be in the running) and the ones I would want are restored( I personally prefer even mid to low grade examples over a high grade restored one, unless the restoration is very very minor). That number 14 is an underrated gem, hope a boardie gets it......
  17. This thread needed a bump again! An oldie but goody, featuring The Black Hood, Roy the Superboy, and The Wizard, in a Castle." Look out for the Knight in Armor!!!!"
  18. Nice going Mr.C (thumbs u . Now off to CGC?
