'Over paid'? For now, yes, but wanted it very badly and knew of other people who would be aggressively chasing this. Have been hearing how the Charltons are tougher in this grade than DC and Marvels of the era/genre by long time fans of these. Got bid up to just under my ceiling, but didn't think it'd go this high.

Anyway, bought to hold long term, and even if a 9.8 or two pop up, hard to imagine another with this color strike

Thats what I've been hearing from those who have been collecting the publisher for long periods. 

Hearing this I have been content with Charltons from this era in this grade, but try to hold out for 9.0 or higher with DC and Marvel bronze horror

Was just intended as a theme cover thread, we have all these 'National' days, I usually post in gold when a particular one comes up that I think you can find an abundance of covers from that era.

Couldn't think of any 'coffee featured' covers from the golden age (or any age for that matter ) so thought if they're out there CG was the best bet to get cross era posts.
