Nice copy! I have to say, that “Still only 20 cents” really makes me nostalgic!
Thanks Jayman! Bought raw cheap recently and came back this grade. And 9.0 to 9.2 are solid grades for these. If luck out with 9.4 and higher, of course ill take em, but dont have to be those grades. Not too much of a window to keep snagging alot of these with this approach as these are heating up as alternative to PCH (though high grade particular Bernie and Adams covers are fetching good money).
But I'll keep getting while the getting good for now

No...and they aren't real high grade, just nice looking copies with good color. They are from an OO collection my LCS got in this week. There were a lot of nicer looking copies, but I didn't care for the covers that much, so I passed on those.
I can understand that. A high grade 'meh' cover or very 'nice presenting' cool cover? I'll take the latter

First of the 8 issues of this promo comic series tie in that featured Looney Tunes characters. Woody Woodpecker, D*ck Tracy and Orphan Annie among others were also featured. I have 7 of the 8 LT issues, the last issue #30 (1947) featuring Porky Pig has been a beast for years, i cannot locate that book

I had read that John kept a few books when he sold his collection, I think he posted about that on the boards. So he did keep some material with him to end. Can anyone confirm that. John is a collector they just do not make anymore.

..I had heard one of the items was his copy of Our Flag Comics #5? I think he posted it raw in the Ace thread a ways back, but it wasn't in the CC auction.

Sad to hear, he was certainly a historian bar none.
That auction and the level of excitement it created here on the boards during the week the lots were closing has not been duplicated since and there have been some exceptional auctions post then.
The catalog devoted to his collection could almost be a Gerber in it self. MIND BLOWING!
Thanks Mr. Berk, I will be a diligent custodian to these and my others. RIP
