  1. Who thinks Marvel is rethinking opening a movie head to head with this thing? WHOOOOAAAA. Right off the page of the comic........haven't heard a peep out of Marvel in terms of hype all con. Bravo WB/DC Bravo
  2. Captain America's shield is everywhere in this country these days. Socks, backpacks, shirts, etc. I see adults and five year olds wearing the same Cap shirts . He has catapulted into a top tier character IMO. There is now the name recognition alone. If you ask any non comic fan to come up with 5 super heroes they may not name Cap but if you ask them if they heard of him after the fact I think you would get a resounding "yes".
  3. Its been my understanding that pop culture Americana style seems to reign supreme throughout the world. Most of the Superheroes live full time in the US anyway.
  4. Hi Rick, I have some money invested that has been making about 5-6% interest a year over the past 5 years. Is there a GA book you recommend that you think would better that over the next 5 years?
  5. I think the coverless Marvel 1 on Ebay that hasn't sold for a while at 12.5k is indicative of where this book is headed in the collector realm....that seems not be such an outlandish price to me for slabbed ,complete ,unrestored innards.......(when I saw a coverless MF 52 go for under $1.5k at auction recently I was shocked but I think its in the same vein) The Marvel name has a ton going for it and will keep it highly collectible for many years regardless of what the book is about.
  6. Thanks Red Fury! At first I thought that was how many copies they had
  7. What are the numbers in parenthesis after the owners names?
  8. I never thought it was rare per say (in comparison to other GA keys) I'm just surprised by the number of raw copies.
  9. Dang! How many raw Cap 1's are out there?? (seems like quite a bit * just from this thread)
  10. Where are the dirt cheap restored copies? Looking for a copy and might have to go the restored route. Thanks
  11. Nice raw copy....is that trimmed? (just asking cuz I'm curious to see if I can pick those things out)
  12. I feel weird disagreeing with GAtor but I don't even think of it should be qualified. Blue label but a huge loss on the point scale to start with trimming noted on the label still
  13. Since you threw your question out to GAtor and anyone else I'll give my opinion: I think the market is already showing what at least key WW books can do recently (AS8, SC 1, WW 1, etc) however I think the grade and look of the WW books play a part in that as compared to other GA keys of relative availability (as they do not) ...
  14. Dude! Major congrats! I know how long you've been searching for the right one and how badly you wanted one. Nice looking book. Now get that baby in your sig line
  15. MM- love reading posts about your first hand purchases with these books when they were new
  16. That's a fun one too. I can't look at GA Flash with a straight face. Just finished reading GA Flash 1-17 in TPB and I thought he was kind of a lame super hero. I usually love all the Golden Age hero stuff as dated as it is, etc but really wasn't a fan of the stories. Liked GA WW and GL though
  17. fun to read the $ differentials . Thanks for posting! what's the all star 3 incident that's cringe worthy??
  18. That is one cool cover. CC always had fun covers
  19. Hi Rick, Hi Rick, What's your "take" on the AA16 from the Wise collection selling "south" of 20k. Still a top 5 book? Thanks Rick
  20. 10/10 Excellent flick! Well done! (this coming from a non X Men fan)
