IMO Market was going soft prior to the crisis. Prices were coming back down to earth in my outside of the big 2 and maybe marvel comics 1 making a bit of a resurgence. Ultra high grade keys would also fall into that category

Very cool. Have you ever seen any marvel / timely publisher bound volumes in a private collection ?

My opinion is that unless it is a provenance volume ( ie archive / file / creator bound ) all the money is tied up in that one key issue. That being said I’m a fan of keeping the history of the collector ( and how they collected ) “ as is “. Assume you do not want to share who the hero is and what key issue ? All pages accounted for ? ( CF, ads, both covers , non hero stories if applicable )

I bought it off the newsstands for 40 cents I think. I was so happy to have a # 1 first appearance. Still have it.
