  1. Just watched this today and I absolutely loved it. And Chris Evans is one phenomenal actor. :golfclap:

This is a movie that I could watch quite a few more times. My only gripe is I really didn't like the ending.

I feel like it was such a huge buildup to the point that Curtis meets Wilford, that everything after that was underwhelming. I would've enjoyed a bigger shock/twist. Have Curtis execute Wilford, the tail cars overtake the guards, Curtis decouple the engine and the tail cars. And they all meet back up at the end and see the life outside.

  2. So I stopped at a comic store a couple cities over yesterday. Didn't find anything so I just picked up a few AvX dicemasters blind bags. On the way back out to the car I noticed a thrift store in the same strip mall. Stopped in and the first thing I notice was a section with hundreds of comics. I started noticing some mini runs of Batman Adventures. As I was getting to the last few stacks, I found another run of them starting at 20 and going backwards. 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, and my heart started to pump faster and I just knew it wasn't going to be there, but sure enough, the very next copy I pulled out was issue 12. A high grade as well, I'd say at least 8.0. I walked out very happy to finally add this to the collection and for a mere $1.59 :headbang: . Also grabbed issue 28. And to think I almost didn't go in.

    Sorry for no pics....

I also love the irony of a thrift store selling these comics just a few spots down from a comic store in the same building. Guess they hadn't got word they had comics.

  3. Anyone remember James Gunn wanting to make a Thunderbolts movie? Remember Kevin Feige said he could do what he wanted if GotG was successful? Remember how successful it was? Phase 4 anyone?

Since Marvel got the rights back to Elektra, Punisher, and Ghost Rider, could we see a team up of them plus Red Hulk? And if any deal is made with Sony, Agent Venom.

  4. My better half follows Stephen on FB lets see if I can find the post. I put this in spoiler tags as some have eluded to the possibility of some of this stuff happening but if it does I don't want to be the one you come to for ruining it lol

    Stephen is extremely comical:

Ok Facebook! It's time for an end of the year, 3,000,000 Plus Facebook Friend Q&A. We've come a long way in 2014... Pop your questions in the thread. If you want to know the types of questions, I'd like to answer... KEEP READING!!

Now... I can only be so spoilery (not a word) about the show at the best of times. Now is not the best of times. Case in point: I posted fan-art that (conceivably) showed a relatively famous staple of DC Comics. Let's pause again to remember this was fan-art. Excellent fan-art, but fan-art. Actual people, who get paid actual money to write about entertainment news, deemed this a reportable story. Did these people know this was fan-art? It's unclear. Did they think we crafted the biggest cliffhanger in the history of our show only to reveal how it'll be solved two days later on a Facebook page? I mean... I guess. So I suppose they surmised I willingly or maybe even accidentally exposed a major plot point on our show... Something I've never, EVER done before. Ridiculous.

You can read that last paragraph again, if the enormity of the logic boner didn't seem egregious enough the first time around.

All of this to say... I'm happy to answer general questions about the show, but anything specific as it pertains to our January 21st return, will be glossed over.

Since this is an end of the year Q&A, before I fall off the social medial cliff (pun intended) that is the holidays, take the time to ask more big picture questions. I'll answer them and everything.

    Love you Facebook. Ask away.

I follow him on Instagram and I've always thought he just seems like the coolest guy ever. This continues to reaffirm that :applause:

  5. I would've much rather had a line up of Deathstroke, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Bronze Tiger, Captain Boomerang, and (Insert female SS member here). Unless they are saving Deathstroke for a larger role.

Throw Will Smith out and make Tom Hardy Deadshot.

How did Will even get this role? I can't take him seriously. Maybe would've been better suited for another role.

Glad I picked up my Legends 3 last year when they were worthless.

  6. Does anyone buy the Harley Quinn's for any reason other than the cover? That's why I pick them up, it's absolutely unreadable

I liked this series up until issue 1. Seriously, I enjoyed issue 0, but it was just all downhill from there. I'm pretty much just picking them up now since they are always sold out and a lot of them do have awesome covers (The Hughes and second print variants of issue 1 are killer as well as the bombshell of 7, among others). But I agree, the series is BAD.

  7.

So, is everyone going to rail on Avengers 2? The backstory for Ultron is going to be changed since Pym is not the creator. Nebula and Yondu in GOTG look nothing like their comic book counterparts. Groot's speech pattern was nothing like the comic counterpart. Heimdall looks nothing like his comic counterpart. Bucky and Steve Rogers were not roughly the same age as shown in the movie. Modok appearance is much, much different in the comic. Sam Wilson in the 616 universe is pretty far removed from a military man in the comic. Jarvis is a butler, not a computer. I could go on and on here. Even how the Avengers came together in the comics has nothing to do with how they were assembled by SHIELD on the big screen.

The number of liberties the movies and TV are taking with these comic characters is quite huge. Having a decent actor play the part seems to be the least offensive change IMHO.

So what was different about Groot's speech patterns?

And as for Nebula, I thought she looked close enough to her comic counterpart (shrug)

  8. Was able to snag some cap #34 normal covers today for $3 each from the LCS

Yeah those things are everywhere...for now.

Yeah we had this discussion a few months back. The print run is healthy as well, but when I started buying them a few months ago I had np finding them. Now its getting harder.

Stocked up (quite healthily) on both covers at C2E2 this year for $1 each.

(And there were still many copies I didn't buy.)

I have 30 of those books that I have been buying for months now. :whee:

    Why chase #34?

Falcon ( Anthony Mackie) is going to be the new Captain America in the Movie Universe, NOT Bucky ( Sebastian Stan )

So you think with Sebastian Stan still having 7 movies in his contract, they are going to make Anthony Mackie the new Captain America? Right... :eyeroll:

  9. Manu Bennett On Bringing 'Deathstroke' Back To ARROW; Wants Scenes With 'Ra's Al Ghul'

    --------------------

"I know that Matt Nable, who’s an Australian actor who I worked with on the Sons of Anarchy kind-of-biker series last year, maybe just the year before in Australia, just got cast as Ra’s Al Ghul. I mean this guy was playing the head of the biker gang that I was in. I was the tough guy in the biker gang, but he was like the head. And he’s got such an intensity to him. But I don’t know, man, if it ever comes down to him and me facing off in a scene, "whew," I mean Stephen Amell is really going to have to bring it to the fire at that stage. It’s going to be two Aussies, it’s going to be an Aussie and New Zealander just sitting there and going “whew.” I look forward to that. Matt Nable is a great actor."

    --------------------

I was at that panel yesterday when he started talking about Deathstroke returning. He also talked about a possible Suicide Squad with Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, and others in Season 3. He said he thinks the creators would possibly like to go that route, so just fun speculation. Either way, I'm gonna be super stoked if he returns to Arrow.

I also asked him about the dance sequence in the Season 2 blu ray and he showed his moves. :headbang: He's a great guy.
