  1. NHL 94 is classic, many battles against my friends on that one.
  2. +1 Independents have been where most, if not all, the best modern runs have come from.
  3. I watched the show and was surprised that I liked it. I actually think the casting for the big three (Archie, B & V) was well done. Even Archie's dad was a good choice. I'll be ready for Episode 2. My wife was geeking out over Luke Perry Who btw, did the voice of Rick Jones in 90s Hulk animated series!
  4. Maybe his shop over ordered and he got a deal on them
  5. Part of this series was filmed in Vancouver, BC to keep costs down: Archie's and Betty's houses looks like some of the renovated 1890 originally built 3 storey houses on Commercial Drive, looks like the front of Vancouver Technical highschool, North Shore rivers for the canoe, death scene. Some of the interior Pop Shoppe scenes were filmed at a recently built 1950s format ice cream sundae shop in N. Burnaby, BC which is a suburb of Vancouver. Just the 1st episode but I like it so far. Would be great if Vancouver Fan Expo could get some of the 'dark' Archie cast to show up for a signing. That's awesome, I lived in Maple Ridge for a few years, there's tons of great places to shoot in BC. I'll have to visit the sundae shop next time I'm there.
  6. How is this still here? So many great Signatures!
  7. Very nice, Kull is underrated.
  8. Here's a really good breakdown of those cool '66 'Black Bat' cards: Popular Batman Cards in Pictures Part One - 1966 Black Bat Batman Cards Quoting now (emphasis mine): The 1966 Black Bat cards (like all mainstream sets of 1966) was licensed worldwide to be produced in various countries locally. As a result the set is available in the following variations: 1966 Black Bat Orange Back Topps (USA) 1966 Black Bat Orange Back O-Pee-Chee (Canada) 1966 Black Bat Pink Back Series A&BC (UK) 1966 Black Bat Fan Club Series A&BC (UK) 1966 Black Bat Orange Back Scanlens (Australia) So it looks like yours are that "O-Pee-Chee" Canadian printing. And congrats on a such a fun pick-up. Look to be in excellent shape from your photos. Thanks for that! I'll have to look into them more closely, they are really sharp copies other than the batman has one soft corner. I just love the art on these Appreciate it!
  9. Technically consider orange back. Series 1. Series 2 on all had different backs. I know the bat symbol can come in different colors as well. There were 3 sets of painted Batman cards by Topps in 1966. The 1st set has the black Bat symbol on the front. These are numbered 1-55. Next set has a red Bat symbol on the front and are numbered 1a-44a. The last set has a blue Bat symbol on the front and are numbered 1b-44b. There are also 2 sets of photo cards from the TV series. The painted cards are valued based on condition, just like comics. If they're in nice shape with no creases or rounded corners, you might get $1-2$ apiece for them. The 1st card #1 (which you have) and the last card or checklist card are going to be worth more, maybe $5-$10 depending on how nice it is. Possibly some middle numbered cards might go for a little more than $1-$2 if they have cool or classic images. By the way if I'm not mistaken the art for the painted series was done by Norm Saunders. Thanks a lot for the info! I didn't figure they were worth anything and probably mass produced. So this auction is out to lunch? Only difference in his and mine is his says printed in the us and mine says Canada. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/322069285746 Also this sold https://www.ebay.ca/itm/262295385934
  10. I loved it. It felt familiar but new. It's exactly one of a few ways an Archie tv show could exist and succeed in today's market. It may not be for everyone and will turn off some die hard fans but it's a good show on its own. +1 The first episode just showed up on my Netflix and I watched it with my wife, who hasn't read any Archie since she was 12, and we both loved it. I couple of changes to supporting characters, parents and teachers, wasn't that much of a turn off to me. The main cast was really great, and Betty killed it. An afterlife type episode would fit really well with the atmosphere they are building, this looks like a complete winner of a series. All of the main cast have read and loved Afterlife, and were teasing a Halloween episode for next season... :applause: That run is so awesome.

  12. Picked these up a few months back at a yard sale. I've been checking eBay for any possible value but the prices are all over the map, there's different colored backs, different printings, etc. Anyone have any info on these? The images are clickable for larger size.

  14. Here are some cheaper options, I'm not a fan of the new coloring either, but if you don't mind b&w(I love it) Showcase vol 5 collects a ton of great issues.
  15. Can't believe no comment on this one. AWESOME, congrats! Thanks, man The OA for All-New Wolverine 1 is fantastic!
  16. Guess not It'll be a few more years before I can join this club
  17. So many amazing Adams covers in those runs, Jimbo's list is spot on I think. I would give honorable mentions to tec 403 and 404, great stuff!
  18. +1 it's hard to beat Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams bringing the Joker back to his roots. This one isn't all about the (awesome) cover.
  19. Guys, can I just hang out here for a while?
