  1. I wonder how much they will sell for. I remember the last 5.5 (not long ago) on ConnecConnect (ow/w? ) beautiful copy with no writing, no tape and no stamp sold for about $60000 and another copy in 5.5 sold a few days after on the exchange for about 55 or just below that. NONE of these sales show up on GPA. If they would I believe the average price per point would be lowered?

  2. The book can still fetch good money on an auction, its a beautiful cover and still widely favored as his first appearance. It'll take time for people to realize the facts and even then they might not accept it. I'll keep one copy of X-Men 266 and auction the other copies to buy several X-Men annual 14's. Lets hope this ends up being a smart move. Time will tell.

  3. I think I'm going to change the title:

GAMBIT MOVIE MADE OFFICIAL (2016) ...GOTTA GET X-MEN ANNUAL 14 and not X-MEN 266

I just finished reading one of the articles (Doug Sulipa) in the Overstreet Guide regarding the first FULL APPEARANCE of Gambit and clearly it's X-Men Annual #14. Even ComicLink.com claims this fact...see link below:

    http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fauctions%2Easp%3FclassCodeSelected%3DUpcoming%2BAuctions%26classDateSelected%3D2016-06-09%26dateCodeSelected%3D2016may%26dateDateSelected%3D2016-05-12%26IDUser%3D34986%26auctionSearch%3Dclass%26AuctionDateSearch%3D2016may%252C2016-05-12&id=1094052

I searched the net and read the 5 pages that Gambit was on and I'm now convinced that this is the book to buy ...this is still undervalued. Now what am I to do with my X-Men 266's ?

  4. When I cross the boarder to come back to Canada they will ask me if I bought anything and to declare the price so that they can tax me(import fees). If I do not declare the purchase I may get away with it unless they check my bags and then I'm fried.

  5. Mmehdy: What grade will it be in? Is it your copy?

Living in Canada, any book crossing from the USA hurts due to the customs fees. We Canadians not only have to pay a 31-37 percent exchange rate but also get hit with another 15 percent customs fee!

I bought from Comic Connect and HA.com before and they don't help the customer lower the value declared. ComicLink is really the only company that helps and understands international buyers. I wish the other companies would do the same in the near future.

Thanks for replying Mmehdy :) We have a great community online!

  6. G.A.tor,

I would like to purchase and/or trade for a book that I'd like to keep very long term. I was thinking of an All Star Comics 8.

    1) Is this a good book to invest in long term? What grade? Does page quality matter for this old book?

    2) Where could I find one? Do you know someone who has one for sale and/or trade? Better yet someone in Canada.

    3) What other book(s) would you recommend as a long term investment?

    Hope you can help

  7. Snowman. You mention a good point. I have both books with me (Annual 14 and finally two copies of 266 ) . However, the people have already made xmen 266 as the real first appearance. Will that ever change?

It's the same story with Warlock. FF 67- Thor 165 and Marvel Preview 1...
