  1. I've kept my mouth shut long enough.  Spiderman 252 actual grade is 8.5.  I submitted 5.0...the one outlier from everybody else.  I had it at 7.5, decided to make some changes and deleted the "7." portion and messed up not realizing I accidently submitted 5.0.

If you exclude that mistake I'd be doing pretty good.

    Thanks, buddy!

It takes a few hours to put it all together with a lot of data checks throughout to account for any data issues (there haven't been many in recent contests thanks to good work by CGC Mike and Get Marwood & I) and to perform other cross-checks, so it's not an incredible amount of work. Maybe I'll keep updating it in the future, if more people want it than not. hm Holding off on publishing it until the start of the next contest like I did this time does give me more freedom to update it at my convenience.

May I ask what you use to analyze the data?  Excel?  Pen/Paper/Caluclator?  Just wondering if there's a way to make this easier or automated since this is great information to have and I would hate to see it stop.

    ***I love excel

It’s not an outlandish theory.  9.9s are so rare right now that you have to wonder why anyone would pay for a 9.9 pre-screen when a book in that class is likely to be a 9.8 anyway.  But if the 9.9s suddenly see a sizable uptick, driving 9.8 prices down…

I was hoping the Blackstone acquisition wouldn’t lead to money grabs like this, but here we are.  Glad I cashed in all my mints long ago.

I would agree if you're talking about books from (lets say) 1990 to present...then that theory is probable (but without any proof one way or another).

I highly doubt that we will suddenly see an influx of GSX1 9.9 in the near future.  I will even bet we won't see another single one pop up in 9.9 at all.  That's my counter argument to the video.  CGC would lose all credibility if that happens and this whole comic book collecting/grading thing would be a total joke.

***But again, if another one pops up I'll gladly admit I'm wrong

So he thinks CGC is purposefully giving a 9.8 book a 9.9 to make more money by hyping up the prescreening option.

I think he's coming up with conspiracy theories to get more YouTube views.

***A year from now if we see an influx of GSX1 graded 9.9 I'll come back and apologize and admit he's right

  5. I believe CBCS gives it a grade but adds the notes of the cover being removed.

I believe CGC gives it an NG and notes the cover being removed.

HOWEVER...I think a few of the CGC that got a grade (i.e. CGC 9.8) made it through before it was decided to give it the NG designation going forward.

***I have an Incredible Hulk 181 Facsimile CGC 9.8 (no barcode)...which is pretty cool

  6. The trailer didn't really get me excited.  They also went too hard on the music.  Any new Alien or Predator movie I'm going to lower my expectations and hope they exceed it.

***I'm not asking for much...just want it to be as good as the first two movies

  7. I'm starting to feel a bit uneasy about this movie.  My excitement level was at a 10 and has gradually decreased with each announcement/rumor.  Past characters I love showing up looking old.  Starting to get tired of the current formula:

    - Have a bunch of cameos

    - Have a bunch of Easter eggs

    - Have a bunch of CGI

***I just want a Deadpool vs Wolverine movie where they do violent things to each other and see who heals faster.

only June but probably not too soon to declare winner in 2023 CBM race:

    Audience: A CinemaScore

BO: may be headed to $650M+ WW or 6.5x production budget

Critics: 95 RT, 87 Metacritic, another Best Animated Film Oscar?

Shocked to see the 87 Metacritic.  I read over some of the lowest reviews (50's and 60's).  I can't say they're wrong if they're someone who doesn't like varying art styles, dizzying colors, and over the top pace.

    Non-spoiler review

I liked it. It was my least favorite of the 3 but that doesn't mean it was bad. It was defiantly the best out of Phase 4/5. That said, the rewatchability is low but it had it's momments.

I liked it.  I don't think it's worse than 2...1st one is still top dog, this 3rd one is second dog, 2nd one is third dog.

***Some pretty dark/disturbing scenes I wasn't expecting from a GOTG movie

  10. I was a bit apprehensive going in because I was reading/watching all the reviews saying it was subpar...BUTT...

...I liked it.  I had a good time.  I like the new Cassy, Kang was spectacular, and visually it was very good (some CGI needs to be cleaned up but whatever).  Well worth the ticket price and a large popcorn.

LOVED the end credit...you know which one.

***Good movie to kick off phase 5

  11. I'm going to have a hard time picturing anybody other than HC being the modern day Superman.  I thought he was perfect for the role.

Having said that, I'm glad to see the seismic changes taking place.  I don't know if this will make the DCEU better or worse...just happy they recognized something drastic needed to be done and they did it.

***Would love to see a Superman "Year Two" movie

Honestly, I really think Omega Men #3 CGC 9.8 is one of the most under priced comic at the moment.  Whether this movie happens or not.

Plus, DC really needs an R-rated character.

***Yes, I did add Omega Men #3 and Lobo #1 to my collection this week^^

I'm going to bump my old post back in 2021:banana:.

This news makes me extremely happy.  A few points...

    - James Gunn involved with Lobo (in whatever capacity) is wonderful news

    - I don't want Jason Mamoa to be cast as Lobo (he's Aquaman)

    - Has to be R-rated (this is a must)

    - Please don't make him be part of an already existing superhero movie...have his own movie

    ***Cast Dave Bautista!!!

They weren't for you.  They were aimed at kids.   They did a Harry Potter thing, where they start the tone of the franchise squarely at the under 12's, then slowly ramp it up, to match the maturing audience they started with.

    I loved:

    - Into the Spiderverse

    - The Muppet Movie

    - Beauty and the Beast (with Emma Watson)

    ****I also loved Harry Potter
