    He wants complete control

he could easily get it done but because he wants to do it himself that’s the hold up

This.  It has always been this.

Which I have no qualms with.  It's his creation.  Plus he has been very successful at doing comics and launching a toy line.  So there's no reason for him to think he couldn't create a successful Spawn movie.

***But I always tamper my excitement whenever rumors of a Spawn movie is coming because of this

Why would you set yourself up to be purposely disappointed?

Any little lull in the story and you may assume there is the failure you were looking for.

True.  But I put the blame on the franchise.  Plus I have lowered my bar significantly in expectations.  So a lull in the story isn't going to disappoint me.  I'm not asking for much...

    -  A decent looking Predator (doesn't have to be great)

    - Good story (doesn't have to be great)

    - A few moments where I can say "cool"

    - Good acting (doesn't have to be Oscar worthy)

    - Violence and body count (doesn't have to be graphic or over the top)

    - Lots of macho/primal/manly (in this case womanly) scenes

    ***Just a good popcorn movie

  3. The Rock is one of the most money making celebrity right now.  From the XFL, acting, commercials, Wrestling,...the man is doing everything.  In the same note, so is Kevin Hart.  You give them money and they'll do it...

...basically, I'm getting sick of seeing them (and I'm a fan of them both).  Their buddy buddy schtick is getting old.

Nothing against the movie because the trailer does look funny.  I just need a break from them.

***Add Tom Holland to that list

Seriously? It’s a terrible representation all the way to the costume. Eddie Munster would have been a better choice. And we’re just going to redact Atlantis? This is not Sub-Mariner. He should have been in the cast of Apocalypto.

So I don't understand what change is considered acceptable and what changes aren't (not calling you out specifically...just in general).  So his origin is now Aztec/Incan...so what?

    - Nick Fury is black

    - Spiderman is played by a bunch of different people (also an animated pig)

    - Nobody got angry with Fat Thor

    - etc.

I'll be more upset if the movie doesn't do him justice as a character...which I'll wait until I see it.  I understand nostalgia and holding onto what we grew up with but I think we need to be more flexible with change (whether we like it or not).

***Multiverse...I'm sure the perfect Namor exists in one of the universes lol

He is missing the widow's peak in the hairline which may not seem important but it is part of his decades long look, and I don't recall seeing Namor with a moustache and goatee (other than when he was being "shaved" by the Human Torch in FF4 ). The outfit is to much "Mayan", but I have heard he isn't from Atlantis anymore. Shrug...is he really Namor?

Fair enough.  So let me change my answer...I'm just glad they didn't make him Chinese or African American (to a point when he showed up I didn't say "what??").

***Personally, I thought he looked great

Since this is dominantly a comic book forum...

...there is no reason why this book should be selling for more than $1K and being listed for a buy now at +$2K in CGC 9.8.  Not a popular character, Dakota Johnson (while I have nothing against her) isn't the best casting ever, and this might not even be the correct Madame Web.

My guess is that this book will start dropping quick from the initial overreaction and Secret Wars #6 will start ticking up.

***Secret Wars #6 is the first appearance of Julia Carpenter

Eh hem...I'm going to take this opportunity to pat myself on the back.

I really dislike the look of Namor in the Wakanda Forever trailer,...

Really?  When I first saw him I was like "that's Namor"!...it was undeniable.  ALSO...I'm glad they didn't go with the hulking muscles chiseled look to differentiate him a lot more from Aquaman.

***I'm just happy that Namor is still recognizable in the movie adaptation

Speaking of the movie hype that was recently announced for SW I've noticed that SW #1 in CGC 9.8 has almost doubled in price during the previous week, while CGC 9.6 and 9.4s have stayed relatively the same. Is this how it usually works?

I'm not sure.  I try buying my books before they cross the $100 mark:D.

***I bought SW #1 because it was one of my favorite covers of all time

  9. Whether you like the MCU or not, they stomped on the DCEU during SDCC.  Marvel basically locked down everything until 2025.  I don't even know how the DCEU will compete after that once the X-Men start up.

I'm not a Marvel or DC person...I just am happy to see comic book movies being successful.  But if the DCEU isn't going to keep Marvel in check (competition for them to keep striving) it is bad for everybody.  They need another Zack Snyder Cut Justice League like movie:sumo:!

***Can't just keep relying on Batman

  10. Looks fantastic.  I don't even mind the change to Namor's origin/roots.  So many things to look forward to...

    - How the Ironheart armor will look like

    - How they explain the death of Black Panther

    - Who will be the future Black Panther

    - How Namor with impact Aquaman (in terms of fans, if they do, choosing one over the other)

    ***Visually stunning trailer^^

Cranston is 66 and Esposito is 64; between the two I'd enjoy Esposito more as Xavier.  But I would think they'd cast someone in their thirties or forties who can fill the role for quite a while.

I would love to see Esposito at Professor X also.  However, my bigger concern with his age isn't his longevity...it would be with Magneto.  I don't want to see a 60+ year old Magneto (since Professor X and Magneto are the the same/close age).

***I'm assuming they have to have Magneto in the MCU

  12. People need to stop saying the trailer looks awesome.  This is a LOTR series.  Of course it's going to look awesome!!!

Galadriel is my new Daenerys (before the final season)...:x

One gripe...I'm not a fan of Cynthia Addai-Robinson.  Her role in Spartacus really turned me off.  Obviously, my opinion is pending on how this new role will go.

    ***Looks awesome

Saved it? I mean, he directed an entertaining movie, but he also butchered most of the mythology and material that he used, including the main character himself. "Saved" isn't the word that I would use. I long for the Thor of his first 2 movies.

Fair enough.  Instead of "saved" I should have said "made lots and lots of money".  Nothing in the MCU needs to be saved in the literal sense.  Everybody knows that.

***Thor 1 is the best Thor...I do agree with that
