Highly unlikely they'd make a guarantee. Yet 9.8 SS copies are not only guaranteed, they are witnessed! And a lot of these big stores that get 100's of copies, will pre-scan copies for CGC submission, put those to the side and sell the "bad" copies. What stores can you confirm do this?

From the look of the package I suspected it may be worse. Still no fun to find that inside. May be worth it to hit up Midtown to see if they set aside replacement copies.

It's a solid Absolute edition. The binding is firm with very little gutter loss There is no dust jacket as the edition sports a glossy cover with new artwork, while the internal pages are matte much like the Deluxe Vertigo hardcovers. Usual bonus materials in the form of covers, sketches, some other backmatter replicated from the Deluxe hardcovers. If you already have the Deluxe hardcovers, the only upside is larger pages. But as far as gifts go, this a great all encompassing volume. +1 If I didn't already own the trades I'd purchase the Absolute Edition. That would be a wonderful gift to not only open but also to read again and again.

Does MCS books that sell on MCS's site report as sold on eBay when also listed on eBay or as "No longer available"? If it shows as sold yet was sold on the site the price may differ. I'm not sure how that works with them.

Is this the same book CAK felt he should have cracked and pressed for a 9.8 after he saw it was in a 9.6 holder?

Regardless of any other circumstance (listed join date, popularity, post count, being friends with CGC employees, etc) Oh I wasn't implying I or anyone else should provoke him. I'm not aware of all the strike worthy behaviors but that would not be right for anyone to be targeted in such a way.

I know they are not official Lego's but I've seen some really cool custom Tick "Lego" figures on eBay. Definitely worth checking out.
