  1. He is without a doubt familiar but it may just be too soon to push another Peter and another story we've seen pretty recently and I can't see them sticking Spidey into a vault to tap into later down the road to cash in on him. Maybe that doesn't phase them and want to cram out another mediocre film but I'd have little to no interest to head to the theaters to see another Peter so soon.
  2. That was funny. I hope it does happen. I'm not sweating it but feel it would be refreshing to stray off a beaten path. Now, only if it's done well. I couldn't get I to Garfield at all and Tobey was fun and fitting for its time. I'd rather not really try and beleive that studios or even Marvel or DC really are concerned with what die hard comic fans think. I can't imagine more than 15% of the people that showed up to see The Avengers in the theater actually currently read comics. Miles may be a stretch but anything can happen. I'm sure they even have a intern watching all the UF buzz sales ...but a Gwen movie, now that is a lock!
  3. I personally think they're going to go a different direction The recent spidey is done. The movies are sad compared to the hits in 2014. Maybe a well written Miles would be a breath of fresh air. I'm not saying there can not be a good Miles Spider-man movie. I'm saying I would be absolutely floored if the first Spider-man in the MCU is not Peter Parker. It would shock me for a number of reasons, but I'll list the top most: 1. Even non-comic fans know that Peter Parker is Spider-man; if it isn't Peter in the movies, you now have to use time to explain. I don't see there being a ton of time for this in Civil War. 2. No one wants to see another origin movie, we literally just had one a few years ago. A new origin movie would be the 3rd Spider-man origin movie in less than 15 years, and the second since 2012. 3. If Sony wanted to do it as some sort of news grabber, then that is fine, but they would still have to coordinate it with Marvel since their Spider-man projects are now in bed with the MCU - see #1. The outside shot of this actually happening... Peter Parker dies in Civil War, and Sony's new Spider-man movie stars Miles. We still have to deal with the second entry from the list above, so I view even this as unlikely. Nick Fury is white right? I realize its a stretch as well, but somehow this got leaked. Personally I think Sony and Marvel are just floating the idea to see how it goes over. Either way its just speculation at this point. Should be interesting to see what this week brings. I couldn't agree more that Sony and Marvel throw things out into the universe to monitor the feedback/buzz of potential films and or characters. I beleive the Deadpool footage was also intentionally released "leaked" to see if enough buzz followed to see if it was worthy of devoting the money into creating the film. Why would they not throw a blogger an off record bone to see where it goes? Marvel does staff individuals, as I'm sure any company's do to follow the trends of social media for business decisions. It's even in job descriptions. The following is taken straight from Marvel. Social Media Internsare required 2-3 days a week (one of which must be Friday) and are involved in social media reporting and analysis, assisting in maintaining the Marvel Audience Network, various online research projects, and participation in brainstorming sessions. An interest in Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and emerging social media networks/technologies is a must. You should be internet savvy, and have strong writing, research, and Excel skills. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task also important. Apply to be a Social Media intern. #Miles+Gwen
  4. Not sure that first Phantom slab sale was legit as I don't see it on the GPA at all and never have. I also feel the NYCC would/should have gone for more. I'd guess the retraction bids spooked a few people off it. I can't imagine another will sell as low as that one again.
  5. Purchased a raw book off Anthony and not only was it perfectly described it was shipped extremely well secure and fast. Great asset to the boards!
  6. Mike shipped a book I picked up off him fast and extremely secure. No questions asked I'd do business with Mike again! An excellent experience all around.
  7. Now, will the raffle be limited to one "ticket" per boardie?
  8. That's pretty absurd to send an email like that. It's getting the book into the hands of a fan who will most likely feel compelled to search out other books in the series since he/she has a #1. Possibly may be even looking to upgrade to a 9.8 slab as well in the future. But the key factor is its your book and it was not his to price/sell.
  9. I beleive the series is on a short Saga type break if I'm not mistaken in order to get the trade on the shelves and pick up the following month. Which will pick up even more die hard fans scouring the earth for the early issues.
  10. My favorite is 1A and I nearly bought that #2 but went with this instead. and my 3rd favorite, I also bought The detail on the #6 looks incredible in person. He went all out on it. Those are phenomenal purchases. Very nice!
  11. #1 A is still my favorite. I feel like it captures the essence of the story within very nicely. NYCC and the B/W ComicsHeatingUp variant tie for second for me.
  12. On what? Seriously, it doesn't exist. Viking...no mas for you!
  13. It's all an illusion. Nothing to see here, move along. Ebay will be available again after all seven have been purchased.
  14. Chalk both of them up to the deadly combination of a misleading picture + bidders too dumb to read Think I will post an auction with a group shot of 30 copies (listing for one book) and see if I can get $1000+ If you do I may bid on it! Surely it will be a raw 9.9!
  15. Mike is an excellent seller! Super fast shipping, packed extremely secure, and very fair! Would buy from again with no hesitation!
  16. I stumbled on one last weekend as well at cover. Pretty tore up with a price tag on it but still super cool on my coffee table to flip through every now and then.
  17. Naysayers love pointing out books that dropped in value and never point out the winners. Saga was ridden with doubt as a book that would make any money at all in the long run. I think it's doing very well with zero announcements. Enormous is an extremely high quality book, and one that is not easily obtained. Mouse Guard B/W ComixPress seams to do fairly well when it pops up with a similar print run yet around 250, and again, no show in the works. Buy it, before I do .
  18. Agreed. Hear that? THE AUTHORITY has spoken. Man my handle is so not cool.
  19. If a raw phantom with a print run of 544 is selling at $100, a 9.8 NYCC with a print run of 106 doesn't sound all that crazy.
