During my teens, i remember IH 181 is "the" popular hot book to own. A couple decades later, its still one of the top comic book to own. The media certainly helped this in some ways and will continue to be one of the most sort after book for years to come.

I read the entire thread about stolen books that were returned eventually. The only question in my mind or most of the folks mind now is: What books are we talking about?

They (comics) should last much longer than any of us if stored correctly. By that time mankind would probably have found an acceptable + suitable restoration method to retain the popular copies. Most of the early GA books may or require some form of restoration to keep the book pages intact. My humble guess: If you like to leave your legacy to your great great great great great grand kids and is on tight budget now, then start collecting those slight pro restored GA books now at fraction of the price. Your great great great great grand kids will thank you for it. L:P

IMO, investing in AF15 is quite similar to stocks but better in some sense. Companies can dilute/reverse ratio their stocks depending on their operation and market demands. You can't dilute the original AF15. So if the demand increase and with only finite supply; demand>supply, price will only go up from there. The catch: Selling process is slower compare to selling stocks. Having said that, most collectors get AF15 is because they want to own a piece of this famous yet rare collectables.
