  1.

    16, 28, 29 & 54 hm

I actually had gotten a #54 but I discovered a stain on the cover and returned it to Metro.

    Wonderful :applause:

I would dream to have only 4 issues to complete a 1-61 run !

I understand when you talked about missing a 16... it is very scarce.

Didn't see much 28 either, and I always been outbid for this one.

Maybe you will try the 54 Don/Maggie on HA soon ?

Seems to be a very nice book !

  2. I've been lucky to get a few books I needed over the past few weeks.

    2 Challenger's Showcases from our own roulette44:

#11 Kirby goodness, with a cool old dime-store back-issue price stamp.

    #12 more Kirby goodness.

    :luhv:

    Wonderful books !

I am still dreaming about a challengers showcase...

  3. Someone is listing a 9.0 for auction next month. I don't recall where I saw it, but I'm curious to see where it ends up. HA has a BIN for $3995, but no takers as of yet.

There is a #34 9.0 on Heritage, it is the same listed BIN for $3995.

In fact, it was a wrong Curator pedigree !

Here is a link to the board where the problem was exposed :

Thanks a lot Bob for your investigation !

This issue didn't seem so great for a Curator.

  4. I can't find one for a year, and then in the course of a month 3 of them in the same grade appear hm

Rip Hunter are still very difficult to find, it's great to purchase a #20.

Surprising to see 2 in a row like this one !

Too bad I didn't plan to bid on any of these nice copies...

I remember a few years back, all Rip Hunter issues were so scarce there were 20 graded for each issues (with highest grade 8.5 at best) !

Here is a scan of my #25

A nice average FN+ book if not this almost torn corner...

  5. After sleeping on it I think I was confusing a #15 that also came up for sale after I had purchased an identically graded copy a few weeks earlier. Same situation - same venue Heritage. So it wasn't 3 it was 2. It's still weird how 2 books I have been looking for, 2 copies of each pop up for sale like this. I hope a #16 comes along soon. I totally missed a 5.0 that went for peanuts back in February.

There has been 3 #15 CGC 6.0 cream to off-white that came up in a row recently (2 on Heritage and I purchased the last one, 1 on ebay). It was very confusing.

I think there is more people collecting showcases recently, maybe it can help to find at last all this ultra-scarce non-key issues ?

  6. I am currently trying to list all the CGC pedigree Showcases.

Savannah is the easiest pedigree to track with more than 75 books listed over the web.

If you are interested in this list, don't hesitate to ask me !

I currently have 9 in my registry set.

BTW, I unobscurred my sets so if you want to check out the pedigree's I have in there feel free. Off the top of my head, I have a few Savannah's (4, 13 & 71), Rocky Mountain (36, 41) and a few Mohawks (37, 47, 48, 49, 51) and maybe more, I don't have time to look right now.

    Thank you for these informations.

I just completed my list and must update average grade now.

I hope I can share it with you all soon.

I got a couple as well; a Rocky Mountain, a few Mohawk's (that I had slabbed for the first time ever) and Savannah's off the top of my head. I'll send you a list of what I have.

Here is the result of my investigation.

I used data from myslabbedcomics.com, Comics Collectors Society Registry and my personal records.

Of course, a lot of issues are still missing but this information can be interesting.

Please note, this is not a ranking or personal interpretation but mere data to share with other collectors.

  8. The latest addition to my Showcase collection.

Probably a former 9.6 (you can see a matching picture on comicpedigrees.com) but I couldn't help to buy it

  9.

A beautiful book at a very reasonable price compared to the 7.5 recently sold ;)

That 7.5 was through the roof. This was a great deal.

Thanks!!! (worship) I strive to find books that are under the proverbial radar. ;)

(BTW, was that 7.5 on comicconnect?)

Yes, I was thinking about the SC #9 sold on ComicConnect recently...

More than twice the price of yours !

  10. :blahblah: ok time to put up or shut up.

My new addition, via the Heritage May auction :acclaim:

Not in hand, but here's the listing preview.

I am looking for this issue for a very long time and I thought to bid on it but did not at the very last minute.

At least I have not lost a showcase #9 auction again...

    Congrats !
