  1. I think some boardies over analyze auctions... imho... Can't base anything especially bidding patterns on a flash in the pan auction... That went under my radar and a lot of other people's... I follow that book on the regular... all I saw was a bunch of 9.6s don't know how that 9.8 surfaced...
  2. Book has been doubted in the past... I bought a 9.6 SS four months after it came out for 400... Even then the seller was skeptical here we are years later it's a 3k book...
  3. Oh so that's what narcos is... I thought it was a breaking bad nockoff... I'll check it out...
  4. From the way the boardie who posted a video... Referencing his "gold turtlemania" he is either on the run from the law and we will never see it... Or we will never see it... So what you're saying is he went full Pablo Escobar on us Yupp! If you watch the video... It's almost like the Feds are making their way to his house... All we get is a little bit of insight into a criminal mastermind... Because if anyone really knows Pablo... They know he's a 80's baby and a ninja turtle fan...

  6. If I didn't already have one... I'd be interested in this book as well... If you don't want it... Don't buy it... Like a corvette... Always one dude that buys one... I'm a toyota guy... So to each his own in the hobby...
  7. I kid... I only kid... I still think it's awesome... They can reprint it 100 times if they want...
  8. Think of how many times the IH181 cover has been reprinted... Don't thinknit effects the value...
  9. What's the deal with this one? Is it b/c it's a newsstand book ($2.25) instead of just the 25-cent version? I remember there was an FF book that was really tough to find the regular price. I bought a few of these Xmen's when they came out based on that. How much is the X-book going for? I might have to pull them out of storage. Yes its the error because of the 2 prices. There is an FF and an Avengers error too. All tough to find with X-men being CRAZY hard Is it really rare? When I saw your book I checked the one I have. I seem to have the error too! How much are these selling for? Yes oak they are rare. Last 9.8 sold for over a grand. There is more info on recalled comics web site. I have seen the x book and avengers , never have seen or heard of the FF book. Let's not forget Wolverine 145 Bone claw error... I have one of the 5 copies at 9.6.... just out of curiosity I used a stock image listed it at 9.6 ungraded got a solid offer at 1100... this was a few years ago haven't seen one listed at any grade... can't help but wonder what it would go for today...
  10. Beautiful looking set of books there! (thumbs u Any idea what a high grade set of #2 to #4 first prints would be going for in today's marketplace since TMNT is really not part of my collecting bailiwick? Just asking since I was at a local con last Sunday and the vendor had a minty fresh off the newsstand looking set of these 3 books on top of his boxes. No copy of #1 which even I know from the boards here is the book to get for the Copper Age. Vendor was really much more of a DC SA Big 5 war collector as evident from all of the long boxes on his table. Went with my gut instinct and picked up all 3 of them since the price appeared to be reasonable in relationship to guide after we checked Overstreet. It's also just so hard for me to turn down minty fresh looking books that are now 30 years old. Thanks! I think a couple hundred each with #2 being the one to look for... High grade goes for 400 or so... I always advance search sold ebay sales to get an idea for the market! I think the magazine first prints are my favorites 1-4 I don't think I'm alone(started a thread on that topic no replies yet)... I held onto these for awhile luckily Eastman came In to town!
  11. My grandpa is Filipino... in the 50's he would pick up comic books for my dad... My dads faves where Tarzan... Plastic Man to name a few... My uncle was also a decent artist because he would practice drawing characters so it was going on from the 60s-70s.... Also keep in mind... There was a US base in the Philippines also English is taught in the classroom so the early US influence is very apparent... but also you have to consider the climate... it rains year round and floods as well.... I doubt there's a 9.8 IH181 lying around anywhere... and you would have to be really lucky to even find the examples i've seen so far... I'm sure the first thing after a monsoon after your small village has been washed through or your neighborhood flooded people look for their Xmen books...
  12. Modern grails... Wolvie Deadpool 1 ASM 678 667 variants... that psylocke variant I like the Spawn 185 i think sketch variant as well... BA12 also debatable... I think a lot of people love their moderns including myself!
  13. thanks! I got scared couldn't muster the courage to SS my #1...
  14. my thread for 1-4s bombed... but my SS arrived today!
  15. If I find a non glossy copy in the dollar bin I immediately drop it in disgust and pour a bottle of sanitizer on my hands. Just slide it back in place quietly... and walk away...
  16. book was graded today... turns out I have the glossy version!
