  1. @Architecht The search function often 'stalls' my Mozilla browser on a PC laptop. I can't count the number of times I try to do a search and it just keeps going forever while other web screens seem to work fine.
  2. That's all, folks! Feel free to message me with any concerns or questions.

  7. First, I have to apologize for the pictures with glare. I normally use a scanner but I'm on the road and unable to find an adequate scanner. I tried to take pics from both sides so that you can see the entire cover. Back covers are clean and have no visible defects or markings. All books are tightly graded for the assigned grade. Here we go...
  8. Shipping: Certified books, shipping is included within North America, ROW we split it. Raw books, include $10 for shipping within North America. ROW I will split with interested parties. Who wins: Time stamp seals the deal as to who wins regardless of the form of communication (including PM, in the thread, text or phone conversation). A negotiation is not a deal until both sides have agreed on terms. If there is an unconditional posted (or communicated) it will trump all negotiations unless we have already both agreed to terms before the was posted. In that case, the will have been in vain. Except that it will give you street cred and look cool to passers by. No House Of Shame or Probationary members or any others of ill repute. Returns: I am considered a very good grader among my peers ( Here is a link to my kudos thread ) but since even CGC is inconsistent I will not guarantee a CGC grade. I will guarantee to be within one grade increment in either direction - so if I am calling the book a 9.4 it could go 9.2 or 9.6. If it falls outside of those parameters (and it does happen that they go in both directions), I will offer a refund. But I don't expect anyone to complain if I undergraded it. I will accept returns if item is otherwise not as described. Consider all books pressed. Payment: Paypal, bank wire, check or MO.
  9. When spending more than $5k one should make informed decisions. Listening to cheerleaders and naysayers equals disaster. I make my decisions based not on this thread. I based it more on my private interactions with buyers and sellers, auctions houses and other external factors. How do people make informed decisions? They read things. Online, in reports, in books. Diluting this place down to simply cheerleaders and naysayers would put you in one of the two groups. Like any information source, people need to vet the information. What I'm saying is that this place DOES have an influence on the external factors and auction houses.
  10. Youre missing "price Im willing to pay" part. Im not stupido! I keep abreast of prices for books I am interested in,I just dont rely on GPA, or Ebay. I rely on my gut, and how nice the book is. And that was my point exactly. 'Willing to pay' is based on previous sales prices. It's not an arbitrary number. So you don't use GPA is your price but everyone uses some sort of research to base their offer prices on.
  11. OK, gang, From the people I spoke to today it's looking like we might have quite a turnout. I'm realistitically expecting more than 10 people and possibly as many as 15. GAtor and I will be there around 7:30 AM to warm up. See everyone there...
  12. I don't know so much about collectability and hoarding in the mid 1960's but I do know that as the years progressed comics were produced with better quality, allowing them to be preserved. Early Marvels were horrific with smudging, chipping and pre-chipping, poor stapling, varying paper and ink quality. By the mid 1960's production quality was better and more consistent. By the late 1960's it had improved again, including much stronger cover stock and ink quality. These factors to me helped preserve comics greatly. I'm only speaking for Marvels. I can't speak for DC.
  13. Absolutely, people do. These chat forums are probably the largest concentration of mature comic knowledge on the internet. Maybe this held true when this place started out 15 years ago. Today? I think MUCH if not MOST of what is said here ripples into the markets.
  14. I didn't know Chris left the country. I saw him post not too long ago on one of Peter's (Paradise Comics) FB posts. You may have misread my post. He didn't move out of the country. Just out into the country. ..as in out into the sticks.
  15. Chris is from my neck of the woods. Last I saw him a few years ago he was moving out to the country and disconnecting from online lunacy. He might still check in from time to time. I have no idea.
