I think he did man up in his first email: To be fair, I left out some context. The stuff I posted about the abuse, his ex military credentials, etc were in reply to me asking for more details to see if he was lying about that stuff and not in defence of his initial behaviour. This is what I replied with after he emailed me initially with the apology: He had replied in greater detail but I don't think having the entire email posted here is necessarily necessary.

That seems surprising... His three strikes have been spread out over a couple of years, and I thought it was three strikes in less than 12 months that made someone a candidate for a ban. I can see how the Mods would think a strike is appropriate, but I don't think there's any justification for a ban. I'm just going by what he wrote to me via email. He could be wrong about the ban/strikes just like he was wrong about how to sell books on here. He also told me the following in another email after I questioned him: Yes I was Honorably discharged from the Military the Air Force to be exact I was a LT and was stationed in England at Lakenheath . I was dignosed as Bipolar and skitso-affective in 2007 I take medication for the disorder. He went on to tell me that he "suffered unspeakable abuse" while growing up with the bipolar and schitzo going undiagnosed and he learned some poor defensive behaviours. And to be clear, I'm not looking to restart any drama, I just wanted to show people that (I had sensed) he did indeed have some sort of a weakness. Anyway, that's it from my end folks.

(thumbs u Anyway, Trey did give me permission to post his email to me since he can't come on here anymore. Turns out that he is indeed banned (or so he tells me) after receiving 3 strikes. Below is his (unsolicited) email: Dear Roy, I have been banned from the CGC boards by the Moderaters. First off I want to thank you for supporting me . I was wrong in selling the PGX book because it violated the rules of CGC. The only reason I thought it was ok was because I had seen and had bought PGX slabbed books from other members on the boards. They too cropped the image. I just assumed this was acceptable practice as none of the other people who had done it had been outed and chastised. My second point I would like to make is the only reason I contacted Joey in the first place was to see if he was happy with the book and if he was happy to leave appropriate feedback. I do this with every one I sell to. Once he said he had a problem with it being a PGX book I offered him a refund which was on the right thing to do. I only asked that it be returned in the PGX holder. When he said he cracked the book out and was keeping it I assumed the transaction was successfully completed. That should have been the end of the story. But Joey deciede to out me for selling a PGX book. Thats why I posted the PMS because I did all I could do to try and resolve the issue I offered a refund he declined said he was going to keep the book. I would like to point out that some people on those boards will never give me a fair shake based on that very first sales thread 3 years ago which I openly explained and appologized for. That being said I'm kinda glad I am now banned from that site because I personally feel that certain individuals were out to get me no matter what I do or how many successful sales I would have or had. If you like you can tell the boards I appologize for selling the PGX book since it broke CGC rules but I will not appologize to Joey because I considered the transaction satisfactory completed when he aggreed to keep the book. They can leave me on the PL or HOS list all they want because since I am banned the point is now moot. Furthermore, I do have a mental disability I am Bipolar and skitso-affective not that that matters. In conclusion I would like to thank you personally for always being level headed understanding and cortual to me and thanks again for selling me the Cap #3 that book will be with me for a long long time. He's been reading the threads and I asked if I could post his email to me on here as it might explain a few things. Or not. Isn't it amazing what a mess a little dumbassery can create? I actually find it comical in a way. You couldn't -script this stuff for Hollywood. One lie started a bigger mess. Which is exactly the breakdown of the first fiasco. The dude clearly loves comic books, but i wouldn't trust him with a transaction involving a Snickers bar. He lied in both cases (the PGX book and the special needs brother fiasco) but in both cases he was trying to save face from what he thought was an embarrassing situation. I personally don't believe anybody's money was ever at risk. Still comical as hell as an outsider looking in. And I agree that one small lie create this entire mess. It's the way most messes start. You form a small crack and it widens out of control. As an interesting side note, we saw "The Ides Of March" starting George Clooney last night at a local, privately owned movie theatre that we like to support. If you haven't seen it, it was a pretty interesting take on politics. It has nothing to do with Caesar or Shakespeare. What struck me about the movie was how much grief, pain and deceit one little lie creates as it grows like a web and causes people to sometimes change their values just to minimize damage. Always better to be 100% truthful from the start. Ironically, one of the people that we went with has a real problem with lying and it was a surreal "I hope he gets it" moment at the end of the movie. Hopefully Trey gets it, too.

That's a a very well thought out post. I knew about two of the strikes (the concocted story strike - headache and this one). To me, two strikes are not necessarily a pattern. 3 might be. I actually did not realize there was a third. Does anybody remember what it was for?

I haven't looked around so I don't know if it was indicated. He just told me that he was "banned" and my PM to Trey went unread so I am assuming he can't log in. Not sure if he's banned or just given a strike at this point. Maybe Arch or Dena can weigh in?

I think the Mods should be cleaning any PMs Trey left behind. Trey can speak for himself when he gets back here.

Sharon, I have a child with special needs. I have gone to classes, support groups. Work with his class on a regular basis. I cannot count how many dollars have been spent on social bridges groups, tutoring, etc. If anyone has compassion for the handicapped it is me. It has hit close to home. I don't see this in Trey, I don't. Maybe he is a little off socially but the elaborate stories he concocts tells me he knows exactly what he is doing. After all the years I have been here I know Roy will be Roy so I take that with a grain of salt. I personally feel there is never a reason to condone any action based on the "handicap" card. Some things are truly beyond a persons control, but that is not the case with Trey. He was deceptive twice in the same thread first listing a cropped PGX scan and then lying about it and telling those asking to take their business elsewhere. For the record, I don't think he's handicapped or special needs. I just think that he is a little socially inept. He just happens to react exactly the wrong way when backed into a corner. We're all a little socially inept in one way or another. Trey just happens to be socially internet inept from what I can see. Also, I'm not asking anyone excuse his behavior, all I am saying is to keep it in context and perspective. Other well respected, well beloved board members have all sold PGX books knowing that the rules were in place but Trey is going to be the poster boy and I think that's a little unfair. It was a learning experience, Trey can answer for himself when his strike is over and Joey and Trey can settle this mano a mano. Most drama can be averted with a few simple principles like if your brother offends you go and talk to him about it directly. I did. His reaction was not one to indicate a smooth road to resolution. Context and perspective is a round about way of saying "excuse his behavior". I wouldn't say context and perspective is a round about way of saying excuse his behaviour. I would say that context and perspective is a way to keep things fair rather than get tunnel visioned and form a witch hunt. The fact that other board members have sold PGX graded books here without facing the wrath of the system simply because they were well liked is one thing to keep in mind, I think Chris (comix4fun) said it well, it's obviously an area where the Mods have jurisdiction and he's already been given a strike and a vacation. OT to Dale, Just to be clear I wasn't trying to accuse you of anything I was just going by names that were named in this thread over the course of the weekend. Heck, I don't remember but I may have even sold a PGX book or two on here before the rules were put into place.

And what great evil are we opening the door to by adding him the probation list as opposed to the hall of the shame? Well, for one thing, 30 days has apparently not elapsed but according to Joey only 10 days. We are supposed to allow 30 days for the two of them to come to an agreement or for restitution to occur. This leaves 20 days for the two of them to work something out. We let this in we may as well drop the 30 days and just start adding people the day after a problem occurs. My apologies - I just assumed, and since the sales thread had been deleted I had no idea when this took place. How is the thirty day rule even applicable when his violation is intentionally altering scans so he can sell a product that is expressly forbidden to be sold on the CGC message boards? Technically it is not because technically (governmentally speaking now), technically this is a Moderator issue and technically, not a PL issue. An HOS issue but not a PL issue. the technical rules! I believe the 30 day rule has been waived more when it has been made apparent there is not going to be a resolution as opposed to severity of the offense. Also everyone else that ever sold a PGX book since the rules were instituted needs to be hunted down and thrown on the list too.

An autistic kid who loves to draw can draw the entire city of Rome quickly and efficiently down to the smallest details after one short helicopter ride around the city from memory but he can't even take care of his own basic necessities. True story. Trey may be able to get sketches because he loves them but maybe doesn't understand the finer nuances of chat board ethics because other members in good standing have blurred that line for him through breaking those very rules themselves. It's very easy for any of us to get tunnel visioned. I'm a master at it so I would know. It is bad behavior, and like any behavior it is learned and at one time could have been controlled. If not, being on the PL or HOS is the very least of his problems. Absolutely, but he needs to understand the point of the entire matter. This is an important point and I believe at the heart of the matter: Not all behaviour is learned. Much of it is genetic and you are born with it. I am 100 sure of that. My 14 year old daughter is a worrier, but I knew instinctively she was going to be from newborn before she could ever have learned to worry. When I realized how sensitive she was to others feelings as a newborn I was driven to tears because I knew how difficult of a life she had ahead of her. True story. I can tell you know I knew if you want me to. Branding Trey with a branding iron and locking him in the cellar is going to accomplish nothing if he doesn't realize that it's not OK for him OR others to sell PGX books here. The punishment needs to not only be accurate to fit the crime, it needs to be fair for all.

Yup, consequences are awesome too. If it was me I probably would have settled it privately via PM and then had him post an apology on the boards. It would have been a lot of work and time consuming on my part but a much more positive outcome IMO. I know because that's what I did when he and I had our first run in when that fiasco with the brother happened. Anyhow, I'm out. Good luck in finding a resolution, all!

There was another too. Some GA catman comics iirc, but i dont remember the seller. Gator and Alannas My I think Trey just felt it was OK to bend the rules deal with PGX books "under the table" so to speak in a "nudge, nudge, wink, wink" kind of way because a) he'd bought PGX books from other's selling threads b) he's seen others selling "non CGC graded" books in other selling threads and assumed that on the sly he could slide a sale through. Kind of like not making a full stop at a stop sign or crossing over the yellow lines in a parking lot. In the end if it gets enforced you will get caught and fined. Because Trey isn't a master mind criminal he got caught with his pants down, and badly and got taken to town on it. When he got pressed he reacted in exactly the wrong way. As if all the people that followed his first thread didn't know how he was going to react this time around. I personally don't see it as Probation List material as he wasn't trying to defraud anyone although he did break the rules (technically) and should be possibly nominated to the HOS and asked to apologize. And you have to be fair to Trey, so if this is the precedent that people want to set then maybe GAtor and alanna and Dale Roberts should have their knuckles rapped too for allegedly selling PGX books. Is this starting to sound a little ridiculous to anybody else? ps. I like Trey, Watson, Joey, GAtor, Alanna and Dale. Just trying to show a point.
