  1. YES. Steve Nash is Canada basketball.
  2. very good looking book! a rare green 'un. we need to have a "green with envy" timely thread---you could start it in a big way, sir. I think a RED Timely thread would take off!
  3. Why would you be ashamed? Some of us are thankful to only own parts of books that we love. If you enjoy owning it, that's all the matters. (thumbs u
  4. Booting up Photoshop now...... Hurry and post them. Maybe he'll melt. This is transplant giving a massage to a random guy in a bar. For some reason Transplant couldn't take his hands off the guy in the checkered shirt.
  5. I know I've sold a lot of books on here recently but haven't gotten any feedback left, positive or negative. Anybody?
  6. They are part time dealers in the North West. Met them in Seattle. Super nice couple of brothers that sell comics on the side and set up at the odd West coast show.
  7. My conversation with a few dealers seemed to have the consensus that Wonder Woman books, especially the early stuff, sells really well. I don't know if it's because the title is so much cheaper than the "big two" or if is a genuine interest in the character. Regardless, it was my impression that prompted me to buy a WW #1.
  8. Best garage sale find I ever found was a Led Zeppelin II record. It was about 26 or 27 years ago. It was the first time I ever thought "people like this? Really?" Been stuck on it ever since.
  9. Greedy! I need to upgrade my beater copy one of these days I picked 'em up for resale. One is raw..about a 3.5/4.0 and one is a slabbed 6.0.
  10. I actually picked up two nice copies in Emerald City last weekend. (thumbs u
  11. OK, my understanding based on what you had written in the past was that the entry level price for any complete Action Comics #1, whether it an extensively restored copy or a low grade but complete unrestored copy, would be about $100,000.
  12. Sorry, you're saying $150K is the entry level price for any complete copy now?
  13. Gator has stated several times that entry level price for a complete Action #1 seems to be $100,000 so that would be the bare minimum. The rest would actually depend on the amount of restoration done to the book. If DG's copy were to slab out a blue 7.5 (as some had hypothesized), well the book would be worth a lot. As it stands now, it's anybody's guess.
  14. It's a very hot book right now. That 4.0 on Comiclink for $1600 is my old copy that sold for about $1060 just before the holidays. Prices are definitely creeping upward. (thumbs u
  15. The pic was a grainy black and white and it was posted on here at one time...it's all on my crashed laptop right now.
  16. I don't have the old B+W pictures when the book was first advertised, but where those white spots at the top of the book there in the original pics?
  17. no doubt (thumbs u but how much restoration has been done to it? we will only know if it is "professionally" graded/checked. The owner, who is an upstanding guy, says not much at all. Yup, Darrel is a great guy. I hung with him for a couple of days out in Oregon. We talked extensively about the book and the short version was that it has been so long since the work was done that nobody can actually recall. I believe that there was also talk of having a possible minor spot cleaning done on the book but can't remember the details. Other than that, all we have to go by right now is the PGX label and how the book looks.
  18. Paulie went through a rough patch when the economy went south and such. I talk to him from time to time.
  19. I saw that book in person when I was in Oregon. It was on display at a local museum where they had an exhibit on comic books and original art in October, 2009. It has a much discussed history, but I can say that is shockingly nice in real life. The scans don't do it justice. Paulie had some photos posted on here at one time of the comic that better represented the book. It really looked newsstand fresh from front and back (I stepped behind the showcase to see the back cover, much to the disapproval of the security guard). It's a killer looking copy. (thumbs u
