  1. Gang, I'm going to scan and list a bunch of new Silver and Bronze stuff. It's all going to raw. Marvel and DC including a couple of big key books in "affordable" grades. Hope to start listing either tonight or early tomorrow.
  2. Probably cost a bit more than that, but I get the idea. I would too.
  3. I think that one of the main reasons a club thread wasn't started here is because the GA forum is very different (or at least used to be) than the other forums. (thumbs u
  4. OWW. Great looking 8.5, though hence the higher price.
  5. Nick, I bought my CGC 8.5 copy from a board member last November and paid $14K for it if you want to record it. I know that he bought it from another board member and I believe he paid $14K for it as well in October. (thumbs u
  6. I sold a coverless copy locally a few months ago for $150 or $200. Can't remember exactly how much.
  7. Relisted this book in the GA/SA Marketplace. Linky. (thumbs u
  8. Give roy or borock a call Oh, could I ever run with this one..
  9. to pay 23900 for a 8.0 that looks like an avg 8.0 one would "assume" they might have had some pressing thoughts about it ? Still very nice even if no possible potential. with multiple sales in the 17K range, almost 24K is not comparable to me That was then. This is now. I personally think most big keys are due for another run-up after a plateau over the past year or so. I think that's what we're seeing happen now.
  10. From what I saw a press wouldn't help the book. There was color breaking wear at the top edge as well as a decent crease through GL's lower foot that keeps the grade down. I got the feeling that someone just wanted a reasonably nice copy of this book.
  11. I'm betting that the new owner of that Action #1 already has a spare centerfold or an interior. I know of at least one and maybe two board members who might/should have one and would likely chase after that copy.
  12. It's a steal. Here's why...this is what the individual wraps sold for: Action 1 5th wrap $6353 Action 1 6th wrap $3010 Action 1 13th wrap $1300 Action 1 14th wrap $890 Action 1 15th wrap $850 Also a 1st wrap sold for $3100 several years ago...pretty sure it would sell for much more. That's $15,000 for less than 1/2 the interior with 10 (or 11 wraps) still to be accounted for. Then you have the cover, which would easily be a 5 figure piece. There are several incomplete copies of Action #1 out there and if someone with an interior were to purchase this copy you basically have a $90,000+ plus book by adding one centerfold. Thats convincing figures you are pulling, - that is *if* its legit to calculate complete-copy-value by adding FMV for each wrap? But thats the problem isnt it? That for the big ticket books value is not easy to determine? So nobody can be blamed for trying to calculate what is cheap or steep. There was an Ext 4.5 Tec27 that sold out of metro a year ago in the mid 30K range. The UK Ext. 4.5 sold recenly for close to 50K. An Action #1 I guess is even more incalculable when it comes to determine FMV at a given moment in time ... Well, considering FMV entry level price for a complete Action #1 is going to run you approx $100K (remember, even a ratty copy that is restored to EP is a $100K book) and the wraps have never sold for more than $6K, I just can't call it anything less than a bargain. Remember, all you need is one wrap to transform this book into a complete copy.
  13. It's a steal. 14. Someone get this man's washer ready and a fresh pair of pants ASAP! Well I wouldnt have shelled out 43K. But somebody else apparently did. (thumbs u I would have. That book was one centerfold away from being a complete Action #1. Do you think if a centerfold comes to market that it's going to cost more than $100K? I don't think so. Looks like somebody got a steal IMO.
  15. I actually didn't comment on whether the book sold for below or $150K or not, just that sometimes negotiations and sales happen outside of the exchange and they then get posted as completed sales on the exchange.
  16. It's possible that Josh was negotiating a deal in the back ground and posted the sale once both parties agreed on price.
  17. Sure, otherwise it would grade higher.
  18. I know. I take pride in making my own holes, not in wearing someone else's hole.
  19. Yeah, I've been caught up in hype before. Probably explains why as a kid I owned a pair of Reebok pumps and MC Hammer pants. I think we should also get greengod to get kids to try and pull their pants up. It's another fad worth getting the truth out on.
  20. No, I was been facetious. It's already been discussed more times than the titanic and walking on the moon.
  21. I think you should run for office and have this be your primary mandate. (thumbs u
  22. Sounds like we need some serious price fixing. Maybe we can get the government involved.
