I used to strictly do the thin BCW poly bags.  And I have more than a little OCD, so when I would buy something and it came in a Mylar, I'd actually replace it with a poly. But even after only a few years, I noticed that many of the bags were starting to get ripples and waves, especially in the front.  Also, the books would slide around in the bags, so sometimes they would be in the middle, but more often they would be shifted to one side or the other.  The bags being so thin and weak also meant that any curvature of the backing board (super common at least with BCW) was perfectly reproduced.  And in the drawer, they'd always slide from side to side and I'd constantly have to shift them around.  So last month I got a bunch of Mylars and just redid everything.
    Before

    After

The rigidity of the Mylars not only keeps them in place in the box/drawer, but it also keeps the books mostly in the middle of the bag, so the books don't shift around in the bag, and the bags/boards don't shift around in the drawer.  And each book looks better too--even the cheapos.  Downside is they take up more space, but I don't have that many to begin with so it's okay for me.
I guess if you're just putting a long box in storage and need to fit as much as possible in there, and aren't always taking them out, the thin ones are fine.  But for frequent use, and especially in a drawer like mine, Mylars are much better.

I’m just down to needing #124, 147, and 170 in 9.8 in order to complete my Swamp Thing vol.2 (Saga of the) set.  If anyone out there has 9.8’s of the last three I need, you should send them in and then charge me an arm and a leg for them.

I just got these back this week from CGC. These 22 are my very first CGC submissions.
Overall, I'm quite happy with the return.  Although wish the last couple were a bit higher, but i'm sure everyone says that. haha.
Anyway, I just wanted to share,
    Thanks!

Just got this one today.  I'm super excited right now.  Bill Everett is one of my favorite artists and Daredevil's a pretty cool character.

I'm with everyone else on this. Buy what you like and you can't go wrong. I recently sold all Marvel books and only have DC and a few GA (Quality and some classic horror covers) and couldn't be happier with my decision).
If you want to keep costs down and accumulate nice books here is my formula now after years of chasing higher grades:
    Silver keys: 6.0-7.0 ow/w pages
    Silver non-keys: 9.0-9.2 White pages
Bronze: 9.0-9.2 White (will go 8.5 on the few DC big books to save a few hundred bucks here and there and don't love spine stress...damage on the back of the book is preferable.)
Copper: 9.4+ white pages raw (usually have to buy from the boards, in person, or a trusted dealer like Storms or Ritter)
I know there is money in 4.0-5.0 books but if it's not GA I just can't go that low but that is personal preference.
As you can see page quality is one of the most important things to me (have a few CBCS white pagers, cheaper in general, that I have cracked and they are not white!).
As to your original question: I like ASM 194, Marvel Team-up 1 (great Spidey book), Conan 1, Doctor Doom books, Silver Surfer classic covers, Iron Man/Sub-Mariner 1, Any book that features main heroes fighting each other (Defenders 10, Subby 54 etc...) With everything being slabbed nowadays isn't it really just about the cover with a lot of the books?

Well, not back from CGC - in fact just witnessed and on its way today but I thought that I would share this pic of me with Al Milgrom from today's signing at All Star Comics and Collectibles.  I never met Milgrom before in person so it was a real honor to meet him - I brought along my beat up copy of Hulk 250 (my equivalent of Silver Surfer 4 when I was a kid) that I originally bought off the rack new. Had Milgrom sign my Hulk 324 and asked him to hold my other graded Hulk 250 which he and Sal Buscema previously signed for me years ago. A great day!
