  1. 217 (quasar) used to sell for me pretty well when i had a an ebay store. around guide or thereabouts. probably sold about 3 copies in 3 years. is the kirby estate going to sue if nightracer ever takes off? I actually went through some longboxes from collections I previously acquired looking for the #213 this AM. The closest I got was #214. What's kinda scary is that literally every Marvel 1st appearance is in play. The Disney marketing machine is fueling speculation. I'm not sure about the Kirby estate. It's kinda sad how things have went down. When Stan and the King were working side by side they were certainly capable of some amazing things.
  2. Nice book! I've got 4 of those in mid grade. It's hard to imagine a Dr Strange movie without Dormammu.
  3. I think I'm going to pass on the #213. That's $9 I can away on another 1st Captain Carrot.
  4. I don't know, man. 6 months ago Id have told you to dump those two, but after seeing what Disney did with GOTG I wouldnt sell those books short. I saw GOTG yesterday. It exceeded all my expectations.
  5. Looks like the FP #1 twin cities 9.8 went for a hair under $1700. Full disclosure-I own 20+ copies, so consider me a bit biased.
  6. FWIW, just fired in on a Marvel Team-Up #95. That seems to be rising on speculation as well.
  7. Black Goliath 1? Really?? Black Goliath 1 has more room to grow than FP 1. Much cooler cover, too. Good luck with those Black Goliaths. I hope that works out for ya. Ill just hoard my FP #1's and watch how it all plays out.
  8. i would buy a palette of GL 87s if they could be found affordably. otoh, Iron Man 55 showed that a $30-40 G/VG copy one day could become a $150 ebay copy overnight, so maybe there's a lot of money to be made buying the best $50-$60 copies of this book you can find because they might be $200-$250 copies later. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Green-Lantern-87-CGC-9-6-1st-John-Stewart-/141219340278?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item20e1541ff6 At that price you have to wonder how much upside there is in slabbed HG though? (This market, however, never ceases to amaze me though, so I should probably shaddup.) I've been waiting for Green Lantern #87 to pop every since Dwayne Johnson and Denzel Washington were rumored casting choices for John Stewart in the upcoming Warner Justice League movies. I think I'm going to hoard the GL 87. There's some Bronze Age DC's that are way undervalued in uber-high grade. I'm thinking this is one of them. If you can find them . . . all of the Adams GL's in HG have been popular for a VERY LONG TIME. This is not news. This is true but there is only a slight premium to 87 versus 81,82,83 and so on right now. It's maybe 50-60% higher than the others. I really think that gap could widen. I think this is a good book to work for the JLA movie. I've got 3 now. My highest is CGC 9.0. I need at least one 9.6.

  10. If I were to take a guess, blob. I'd bet both the Forever People #1 and the GL #87 hit 4 digits in 9.6 sooner rather than later. Heck, the FP #1 might already be there. There's a 9.8 on Heritage at $1200 with a couple days still on the clock.

  12. Still plenty of 265's on ebay. So many I can't scroll through them all. What about GL 87? I bet we see some action soon on that. John Stewart has to be the favorite GL in the upcoming JLA, especially since Van Wilder tanked Hal Jordan.
  13. Wow. Those Church books are magnificent!! What a score! Congrats!!
  14. This one is starting to move, gentlemen. GPA charts look good for 9.4-9.8's.
  15. Yep, JO 134 is the tougher book, but there are not a ton of this in HG either. I'm not saying JO 134 is worthless, but for such a small cameo it should eventually trade at par with the FP 1. Right now the JO 134 costs a lot more. No doubt the FP 1 is trending in the right direction. I do agree on the FC though. Not Kirby's best.
  16. You guys can chase Fear #19. I'm sticking to my guns on Forever People #1. That Twin Cities 9.8 on HA has set a new high and there's still 8 days left in the auction. In spite of the pq, that pedigree probably makes it the most desirable graded copy.
  17. X-Factor 15=1st Horsemen cameo X-Factor 19=1st full Horsemen of Apocalypse Interestingly enough, neither is specified in the new OPG.
  18. Those are rare books indeed. I waffled on a couple auctions and ended up with a pair of Green Lantern 87's as my only buys on the day. I've convinced myself they will go Stewart over Hal Jordan as GL in the upcoming JLA movie.
  19. ....they had $2 each on the boxes. I didn't quote any price but I guess if paying what someone is asking is taking advantage of them then...guilty. Actually should have been $64 because 1 had 32 books but she said $60 since I was the first person to look at the boxes.....I guess I really took advantage of her for not saying...no,no...I must pay the $64 Ya did great. In sure some of us, myself included, are a little jealous. Hell, if you wanted to be a real you coulda just walked away with 2 1st Deathloks, Wolvie 1, 1st Black Cat, 2 1st Rouges and Death of Elektra for $14. At least ya had enough class to overpay a little on the others Thanks....surprisingly the Spidey #408 is one of the best of the lot. I have had many, many multiples of all the others in the bunch but don't think I have had the Spidey variant before....it is pretty limited. I didn't catch the 408. Very nice! Out of curiousity was this show here in the tri-state (Ohio, KY,IN) area? Judging by your name Id guess you operate in some capacity here at the University in Cincinnati. Show was in Indianapolis....I almost attended U of C back in 1980 but at the last moment decided on Ball State in Muncie IN....which I now happen to teach and coach at the high school in Muncie and like U of C our mascot is the Bearcat....thus Bearcatcoach! Good man! I'm a fellow MAC alumnus from Toledo. Nice job with your books!
