  1. I've been enjoying it, makes me want to get my tinfoil hat while reading it.
  2. Yes, yes it is! This is a book that leaves a lasting impression. Doesn't matter when we left off. We all know exactly where we left off. Yeah it is great book, I would love it if they could maybe do 8-10 issues a year. Nonetheless can't wait for my SB fix next week.
  3. Finally another issue! Is this only the 2nd issue that has come out this year?
  4. Not surprised especially when it comes to the modern ones. Lot of those books are $2-$4 in the longboxes so why pay $50 when you can get them cheaper. I see the hardcovers already be discounted as well usually around half price. Then you look at the arah reprints and while maybe the first and second volume is ok you can get the softcover for like $15 a volume and in certain numbers of the 155 you can find those original books at $2 a piece for decent quality originals and get it cheaper in the end. Bad news indeed, I was planning to get all of them. But as you say, I guess there isn't much point in them when most of the issues you can find in the dollar box.
  5. Quick flip because with Black Mask's track record there will probably be a dozen 2nd and 3rd print variants before another issue comes out Done with Black Mask myself, good stories and all, but the schedule is way to erratic to keep any sort of interest.
  6. I snagged a Transformers RID #14 RI with Prowl on the cover for a buck, but was a bit disappointed after getting home and looking at it a bit closer, its only about an 8.0. Well it is a place holder for now.
  7. Now to get a copy of JL #1 for display. It's not that expensive. I still have mine, bought it off the rack back in the day. Such a great run!
  8. Nice set! One of my favorite Transformer covers. Can't go wrong with a Justice League #1 homage.
  9. Thanks. The Dino issues have real really grown on me, good silly fun. What is not to like, guns and dinosaurs.
  10. Kinda sad MTMTE and exRid are ending. Both were great series. Hopefully they can keep things interesting with Revolution.
  11. A few of my recent pickups...marching ever closer to complete runs of the Big5 SSWS 107 Statement of ownership, average number of copies for 1962: 195,000 SSWS 124 GI Combat 92 Statement of ownership, average number of copies for 1961: 205,000
  12. Yeah 350 is a little on the high side. And no back cover pics to boot. As for reading, Till All Are One has been a pleasant surprise, I've really been enjoying it. Now of course Revolution is starting, hope the Transformers line stays quality.
  13. Frank bought a few books from me, great customer and communication!
  14. Does this contain Sam's stories from the Joe Kubert Presents series? Those are titled "I Remember." In one of the stories Sam recounts the typhoon from December 17, 1944 that his USS Stevens encountered. One of the other destroyers in that group was named the USS Dewey. I had a dear friend who served on the Dewey and he would remember that typhoon. He and other sailors had to tie themselves to anything they could on the deck in order to survive the 90-degree rolls the Dewey had to take in the typhoon. They survived! Sam drew the Dewey in one of these stories and when I saw it I had shivers. Yes it does contain the Joe Kubert Presents Series issues 1-6.
  15. For reading, I would recommend picking up the thicker TPBs called Showcase Presents. While all of these are great, I love the Unknown Soldier and Enemy Ace books. The War That Time Forgot book got me to really enjoy the Dinos. Sgt. Rock is a no brainer and the Haunted Tank stories are all great too. See the pics below. For $10-20 each, you cannot go wrong. That is a nice stack of reading material. In addition to the b/w Showcase editions, there is also color DC Archive Editions for Sgt. Rock vol. 1-4 and Enemy Ace vol. 1-2. Though they are a bit more expensive due to being out of print. I've noticed DC is starting to put out a lot of Golden Age and Silver Age omnibus editions. Hopefully we will get some DC War ones.
  16. I thought USS Stevens was strictly directed under DC. Found more information about the artist Sam Glanzman who served on real-life USS Stevens and his art career: The Collected Stories by Glanzman. Did you get it from Amazon? I found one too. Most recent print was July 2016 that is what you got? Yep I got it on Amazon, my printing is 2016. The bulk of the material is the DC Issues, and a few from Savage Tales, and a 1 pager from Combat #16 and the cover to Combat #26. It looks like it only includes a 10 page story from A Sailor's Story. Looks like I need to pick that up too.
  17. Did anybody pick up USS Stevens: The Collected Stories by Glanzman. Got my copy in the mail yesterday, gorgeous book. Can't wait to start reading it. I believe it collects all of his USS Stevens stories from, Dell, DC and Marvel and a new one for the book.
  18. Nice going! I had a bit of luck myself the other day at Half Price Books, they had a stack of Transformers from RID, MTMTE and All Hail Megatron at .50 cents each all in at least NM-. And to top it off there was a 2012 RID RI annual in the stack.
  19. Got my Overstreet Heath Cover yesterday. Great cover!
