  1. And this one's on the list And I'm glad it survived being crammed into my mailbox without any additional damage.
  2. I don't recall Venom being that big of a deal when ASM 300 came out. I mean sure he was a cool new villain that was originally Spiderman's suit that he picked up in Secret Wars. But back then it was all about McFarlane's art. Still remember trying to track down #298 because I had missed the issue. Ahh the days before pull lists.
  3. Sharp looking 87! My latest washtone pickup. GIC 88
  4. For me only Wolverine and Colossus were cooler than Cable (and Gambit) back in the 90s for the X-Men. As for Deadpool, I thought he was okay, nothing special. I was quite surprised when I came back to comics and saw how popular Deadpool had become and it seemed like Cable, Gambit and the rest of X-men (minus Wolverine) were not that big of a deal anymore. BTW I thought the Deadpool movie was great and as an added bonus finally got to see Colossus done right on the big screen.
  5. Sweet book! The tank on the cover looks a bit like a Soviet KV-2 with a cupola added. Course the Germans were known to use looted tanks during the war. I don't have a copy of the issue, is it a KV-2 in the story?
  6. I'm amazed that didn't sell on your thread such a great cover! I almost bought it to replace my low grade one. But I'm on the hunt for a GIC 87.
  7. Ace cover Jimbo! And maybe Grandenetti isn't as recognized as Heath and Kubert, but he should be, lot of nice covers from him.
  8. Great books and singed by Heath to for extra great!
  9. One of my favorite covers from OOAW. Nice book.
  10. I picked up two Batman polybags (both were the color versions) at the LCS. Mine are 9.2/9.4 range, maybe with a press a 9.6? I did cherry pick, there were a lot that felt worse.
  11. not really getting the joke, my birthday is in January and I'm 47 years old. Jeff Bridges. The Dude. Born December 4, 1949. 66 years ago. Ah, THE dude. Got it. “I’m the Dude, so that’s what you call me. That or, uh His Dudeness, or uh Duder, or El Duderino, if you’re not into the whole brevity thing.” — The Dude One of my favorite movies of all time.
  12. 750 clams for 9.0? That seems a little on the high side. I know Transformers don't have that huge of a print run and a 1:25 rarer still. But demand isn't exactly up there, I could see a 100 or so. Am I missing something with this? Yes. Key Transformers book, less than 300 exist, articles talking about it's rarity: http://tfsquareone.blogspot.com/2014/03/top-3-toughest-idw-mtmte-covers.html I have sold a raw 9.0 for $300, and a 9.2 for $300 so I agree he is on the high side but only graded copy and he is using the 1st to market thing to his advantage. I have a NM+ Raw that I could press and slab, but it won't happen unless I find another raw copy. Great article. The things you learn here. Looks like I may be looking for a copy for while.

  14. That will sell for some cash. I got the Black Book sketch cover and for GL the b&w cover.
  15. Well I guess I'll wait on finishing my MOS 17 and 18 reprints collection until the movie hype dies down.
  16. Yeah I've really been enjoying these last few issues. Which is good, because the last few issues of the last series was kinda , with the whole Spike and Galvatron/Return to Cybertron plots both felt rushed and forced.
  17. Yeah I just jumped back into Transformers myself. Been playing catch-up, starting with Infiltration I'm now up to MTME/RID #5. So only about 80 or so issues to go to get current. Overall it has been an enjoyable series, though there has been some bad stretches with the art and/or the plot.
  18. Nobody cares about HQ3001, let alone JL3001. I dunno JL3000/1 has been a pretty good read. It is a throwback to the Justice League Super Buddies days. We still read comics here don't we?
  19. First comic for me was Transformers #1, 2 and 3 from a 3 pack. I was 11 or 12 at the time as I don't recall exactly when I got it. But I do remember getting it at a grocery store. Still have my copy too. My first superhero comic was Iron Man #208 from '86. Bought it at a gas station near my home, seeing the missiles and a guy in armor on the cover and thinking "this looks cool, I better get it." If I remember correctly shell head was fighting AIM in this issue. That gas station became my comics go to that summer, until I found a comic book shop in the next town over. Not a lot of comic shops in Iowa back in the 80s. Collected steadily from then up till 1999.
  20. Pooch is the man, err wait Dog! And speaking of washtones... Picked up another of the GI Combat Perty-thirty. Nice copy minus the 1" rip on the front cover, above the C that goes through the book. Maybe somebody tried to Hulk rip it back the day. GIC 77
  21. Revat is pleasure to deal with and he packs his comics well.
  22. Bruce was great to deal with! A smooth transaction and payment was quick.
