  1. It would be a lot more attractive to switch to digital if it was a cheaper option than print. The costs can't possible be as much as making and distributing a physical copy.
  2. The copyright date says 1986, but no month. Marvel's The 'Nam came out in 9/86 (cover dated 12/86)
  3. Right around the same time, but I'm not sure which was first. I imagine that it wasn't the case of one inspiring the other, but rather that there was a lot of media about Vietnam at the time. Good Morning, Vietnam, Platoon, and Full Metal Jacket (just to name a few) came out around the same time.
  4. It wasn't for a lot of money, and it didn't go for a huge amount, but the 3-issue run of Black Widow in Journey Into Mystery from the late 90s sold when I put that up for sale a while back. I was a little surprised that that sold before the adjacent 3-issue run featuring Shang Chi. All of the final issues of that series had pretty low reported sales numbers.
  5. Inhumans #5 (1999): https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=inhumans+5+1999&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=0&LH_Sold=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=10018&_fsradio2=%26LH_PrefLoc%3D1&_sargn=-1%26saslc%3D1&_salic=1&LH_SubLocation=1&_sop=13&_dmd=1&_ipg=100&LH_Complete=1&_fosrp=1
  6. I'm already seeing listings for 2nd prints, so anyone who wants to read it will be able to.
  7. Even the fandom wikias don't have appearance counts that high, and they include things like the Marvel Handbook (which I don't consider appearances). I'd also not consider What If/Elseworlds stories that aren't in continuity appearances either. I *do* think it's fair to combine DC's Earth-1, Earth-2, etc together though, as the separation of those was retroactive.
  8. Does the weekly comic strip in Comic Shop News count? Because that's 4/month right there.
  9. I went back to Midtown after work yesterday (2 locations) and they were gone. Sold one of my 2 copies for $25, so I covered costs
  10. That's precisely why I was asking about whether her origins had been hinted at. Apparently an issue of the Marvel Handbook had indicated that child was a boy, but since that's never been indicated in an actual story, I would say all bets are off.
  11. I own that book. Maybe even an extra copy. But I don't think I ever knew that it was Liefeld's first. The first I was aware of was the Hawk & Dove mini
  12. Or the New Teen Titans "preview." Or the short Damage Control story from Marvel Age. Or the Lazarus preview in the Diamond catalog.
  13. I didn't read the whole story. Are there any hints as to her background?
  14. The only difference I can see if that this preview is in a comic book, which contains comic stories, and not a news magazine (which is what Marvel Age is, despite being comic-sized) which normally contains marketing and editorial content. Maybe that is factoring into how they're viewing this
  15. Just popped over to Midtown Comics on my lunch break and nabbed two copies as well. Someone has already vetted them for the best looking copies, it looked like
  16. An impact on *the hobby*, sure. But they're not the arbiters of what a first appearance is.
  17. I think the key here is that Spawn and Darkhawk were heavily *speculated* upon. So there are tons of people with extra copies in top condition.
