  1. I have no use for slabbing, and really don't care much about restoration, since I buy to read. That said however, the PLOD label on slabs has made normally unaffordable books within my means.
  2. NO LIST PEOPLE. PAYMENT BY PAYPAL OR MAILED CHECK. TWO WEEK RETURN PRIVELEGE, YOU PAY RETURN POSTAGE. $25.00 POSTPAID IN THE U.S., CANADA $30.00. ADVENTURES INTO THE UNKNOWN #31 ACG COMICS, 1952 REPLICA COVER, REPRODUCED BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE, FRONT AND BACK, WRAPPED AROUND ORIGINAL PAGES, WHICH ARE OFF-WHITE. AN EXCELLENT LOW PRICED READING COPY THAT ALMOST FEELS LIKE A NEW BOOK. APOLOGIES FOR THE LAST SCAN; IT REFUSES TO POST UPRIGHT.
  3. Mystic 9; "Carl Burgos may have done the trees and the tombstones." https://www.atlastales.com/issue/2921 Marvel Tales 112; Cover Credits; "Bill Everett pencils unsigned" https://www.atlastales.com/issue/2276
  4. What an incredibly excellent "pre code" cover illustration! Where did you find this book, if I may ask?
  5. LOL, anytime I see single digit prices for "ancient" comic books I consider them cheap. Why would you ever buy a full run of a title you know nothing about? I'd suggest considering an order of maybe 3 or so, to see if you like them or not. AFA significance, I'd say a run of 254 issues speaks for itself.
  6. Thx for the link, very informative. I had read somewhere that Bill Ekgren had committed suicide, so glad it apparently wasn't so. Here's my copies of books with his artistry.
  7. Go here to see the Richie Rich run; all pretty cheap https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=168791 AFA "Dell/Gold Key PCH comics", there were none.
  8. They apparently had the output to publish a 4th title, and planned it just before the ax started to fall.
  9. Here's my copy. Which story isn't shown online?
  10. Of course they have some worth; they were worth it to you, LOL! Please post the Adv Into Weird Worlds by itself when you receive it, for us to give an estimate of value. AFA the other books, crime, unless with a GGA or bloody cover, doesn't get a lot of respect. The war books all look like they're CCA coded, so I wouldn't imagine a lot of value there either. If you were going to liquidate them, I'd list them on eBay as a lot of 7 war books. List each crime book by itself with a starting bid of $10-15.
  11. In the fall of 1954 with the approaching CCA restrictions, several publishers including Harvey simply reprinted stories from some of their earliest issues. This one reprints the stories from Tomb of Terror #1. Here's my copy; notice the same story advertised on the cover.
  12. Even worse if their paid subscriptions not yet used were then put toward the "New Direction" books.
  13. I have most of that run, and bought that issue 50 years ago at a used bookstore for 4 bucks. The stories and artwork are reasonably good, and the Sci Fi story is excellent horror.
  14. Yes, that definitely qualifies as a PCH comic. As you know, value depends on condition as well as desirability. Are you buying it for an investment to flip later on, or as a keeper? Look at eBay closed sales of this title in similar condition to assess it's value.
  15. May I suggest that you did not overpay. You got what you wanted at the time, and can't be concerned with what other copies since have sold for, B/C you got and have yours, and that's what's important.
  16. I've bought from Jim over the years. A nice guy, who often as not will throw in shipping and/or a discount if you buy several books and ask.

  18. IDK how long you've been into this hobby, but what you posted is unfortunately the way it is more often than not, regardless if at eBay, HA, Comic Link, etc. Here's a link to the eBay category, golden age comic book lots; https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=golden+age+comic+book+lots&_sacat=259103&rt=nc&Era=Golden%20Age%20%281938%2D55%29&_dcat=259104
  19. This book was graded a 1.0 by CGC B/C it has a coupon cut out of the BC. O/W it's easily a VG-F. The deficiency made it most affordable.
