  1. I was at a table at the Motor City Comic Convention with my friend Darth Korgi when he wandered off and found a bunch of Fantastic Four comics I needed including these two. Thanks again, Darth Korgi! [/img] It looks like Ben had some rough times for a few issues.
  2. This was one of my favorite comics growing up. It belonged originally to my aunt or my mother and must have been a favorite because it was already in rough shape when I first saw it in 1974. We had this and a bunch of other Classics Illustrated comics in the drawer of an old secretary at my grandpa and grandma's cottage in Northern Michigan, which we visited almost yearly. I always read this one! This issue was full of great art and I'd also like to submit that this is possibly the best Halloween story of all.
  3. This is an awesome cover! When were these around? I must admit, I never saw any WONDER COMICS on the newsstand...I'm sure they were there, but I unfortunately missed them. TERRIFIC COVER! mm
  4. I agree. I love Superman. But Lois sure seems to be giving the Man of Tomorrow the cold shoulder here! I wonder what happened in this issue?
  5. Love this comic! Everyone give a warm welcome to Minh, a fellow Houstonian, a long-time customer, and a good friend. He isn't a lawyer. He's got a great collection, and most importantly...HE HAS LEARNED TO POST SCANS!!!! Welcome Minh ! Great book you posted.
  6. That's some great stuff. Thanks for posting, guys!
  7. Thanks for all of the information and diverse opinions, guys. I just reached ASM 340 in my quest to read all of the Spideys, including Peter Parker, MTU, and Web. A quest which my friend Darth Korgi has also undertaken. The stories are still enjoyable, but I've reached 1990 now and I'm a little worried about what's coming up next. The 90's have a not-so-great reputation. It's a very easy place to stop because of the renumbering, I haven't bought anything past #441 for my collection either. I know some people out there will think I am crazy for saying this, but for me there is no point in collecting anything beyond McFarlane's run on ASM. You're crazy for saying that. Is there really anything between 328 and 441 that you need to own? I am not saying there's nothing worth reading, I am saying that in my opinion there's not really anything worth collecting in the last 25 years. Yes, the first appearance of Carnage might be the exception. Still, that leaves the last 23 years. I guess I'm just old school. #344,361,400,408 Variant, 430,431,432 Variant......and that's just up to #441. 410 too...
  8. You're absolutely right! I stand corrected. I believe that may have been in the August 1940 issue.
  9. That's a lot of heroes in one issue. Subby, Human Torch and Toro, the original Angel and Vision. But who are the "others" mentioned on the cover?
  10. Great covers! Doctor Solar looks pretty cool!
  11. Thanks for the information and the link! That cover for 3 is great, but I like 12 even more! This comic looks like it's worth checking out.
  12. That's in great shape! Cool cover, too. And what a cool name for a magazine: Unknown. Later in 1940, July I think, Theodore Sturgeon published a favorite story of mine, with the extremely creepy but very succinct name of It. Unfortunately, I've been unable to find so much as a cover image for that particular issue (which I'd love to own someday).
