  1. Awesome, groundbreaking book. movie, and David Lynch is one of my Top One directors! The movie has grown on me. Anytime a have a spare 12 hours I throw it in.
  2. I wonder if people like Dune the movie or book more?
  3. It's not far from me but too much work. If I was more knowledgeable I would consider it. But that is just way too much research for me at this point.
  4. Not sure where to post this (or if I should at all). Saw this ad on craigslist. Some guy is selling 3,800 comics and asking $500 in New Jersey. Thought someone might be interested. http://newjersey.craigslist.org/clt/4632655583.html
  5. Not the best picture, but here is my updated Frazetta collection. Upon further inspection the Death Dealer I just picked up has some issues. The top spike on his helmet is broken off. For the price I paid I can't complain. I'm also close to having all of the plastic figurines they put out.
  6. I've only had interaction with one creator, Jay Fotos. And that was by email only. He is a really nice guy and went out of his way to dig up some old comics for me out of his personal stash.
  7. That Darkseid is pretty sweet. Is that an alternate arm?
  8. I have to remember not to do that again. Long day driving. But I got the statues at an amazing price and they were in excellent condition. I'll post some pictures later. And on the plus side I didn't get kidnapped and murdered.
  9. Great seller. Fast shipping and great packing.
  10. My Frazetta collection is slowly growing. Once i have these I'll post some pics.
  11. I did get good pictures and the guy sounds legit. Older guy who has had them packed away for years and is almost giving them away. Of course he might also be a serial killer. But we are meeting at a public place. Frazetta's Moon Maid and Death Dealer III
  12. Making an 8 hour road trip tomorrow to get two statues I found on Craig's List.
  13. I had a question related to ebay selling and couldn't figure out the best forum for it (if there is one at all). Just let me know the best spot for it if this isn't it. Any clue why some people use a reserve in their auctions? Why not just make that the minimum bid? Just seems like sellers are playing games and certainly makes me much less inclined to bid in that auction.
  14. Bought several books from Nate. Easy as pie transaction and the best packing job I have ever seen. Look forward to buying more from him.
  15. Sounds like the seller was upset in general about all the calls/emails/posts and decided to focus that anger on one person.
  16. I can only imagine how expensive this is going to be. Frazetta's Death Dealer by ARH studios. Obviously still a WIP.
  17. Think of the alternative to claiming all the comics and going through them. It would be multiple people grabbing at them at the same time in a frenzy to find the ones they want.
  18. I've been to a few Phish concerts. My memory of those is a bit fuzzy though.
  19. Hi Everyone. Name is Eric. Live in the grand state of New Jersey. Only recently starting collecting comics. Started out by my obsession with Frank Frazetta. First it was some art books. Then statues. Eventually lead me to his art inspired comics (Death Dealer/One shots/etc). That in turn lead me to Conan. I've picked up a few key issues (1 and 2) and the odd one I find. Looking to really start filling out my collection. Also looking to further add to my Frazetta collection (have about 50 comics right now) plus any other misc Frazetta items I run across (and it is amazing just how many there are). Look forward to talking (and hopefully buying) from the community here.
  20. Is it OK to post about bad sellers here? Bought a Conan the Barbarian #1 from seller buey03 listed in NM condition. I realize grading is subjective, but the comic came bagged and boarded IN A PLAIN ENVELOPE. No cardboard. No bubble wrap. Just stuck it in a mailing envelope. Turns out the cover was detached at the bottom staple. Sent the seller a message detailing what happened. It started off OK. He said he had some more comics and would see what he could do. All went down hill from there. Kept offering to sell me more comics at a discounted rate. Every single comic was priced at a minimum of double what other sellers had them for currently on EBAY. Said it wasn't his concern what others were selling them at, he was giving me a big discount. It took me opening a case with EBAY to get anywhere. Even then he continue to try and sell my overpriced books at a discount to make up for it. Eventually got him to give me a partial refund. After looking at other books he has for sale there are a lot that have staple issues. I'm not so sure the cover wasn't detached from the beginning.
