  1. What's everyone's experience with the easiest to find book in $1 and below boxes? I can only go by my stuff and I only started looking about 6 months ago, but I have seven Jonny Quest 5, five Alien Worlds 4 (although 4 came out of the same box), and five Crossfire & Rainbow 4. I dont have anything else in quantity more than 3 from the cheapies.

Alien Worlds #2 and #4 have been very easy for me, a dealer at the last show I was at had multiple copies of both in his .50 boxes, I bought all the ones that were in decent condition. Planet Comics #1 has been plentiful in recent months, as well.

  2. I finally got some Deitch art in the last ComicLink auction. Does anyone have any info on this exhibit, like what year?, or a scan of the published piece? Thanks.

Hey Mike, actually it looks like this was not just a poster but also the front cover to a collection of underground art (maybe from an exhibit) published by S.K. Jonefsberg Studio in Portland, OR in 1995. Here is an image of the finished art.

    Cheers,

Thanks Tom! I knew someone could do it! :applause: Now I just have to find a copy for sale.

one was just listed on eBay (not my listing)

  3. I was watching this auction, and would have placed a bid if it hadn't gone past $20. I have a LOT of Stevens stuff, all of it rescued from cheap bins and boxes. However, I have never encountered this book in my years of looking for this stuff, so this is one I wouldn't balk at paying a little more for.

  4. Now that the experts are here, Are there any issues in this run that are particularly hard to find in high grade?

    #6 is definitely a bugger.

I picked up a copy of #6 from Lone Star for a decent price, they graded it as an 8.5, but I feel it was very undergraded, I feel it's easily a 9.4. Wouldn't have even thought about picking up this issue until I saw a discussion about it on this board a while ago.

  5. I was wondering if someone here could help me with pricing out two undergrounds. They are not in the Overstreet guide and there were no recent sales that I was able to find on the internet, like here or on ebay. I did locate one in an online store but I think they are asking crazy prices. Someone here told me these were just common issues so I don't want to list them at stupid prices. If someone can help me out that will be great.

    Dope Comix 5

Bizarre Sex 9 (first printing) I am not selling this one but was curious and would like to mark it on my spreadsheet.

I can post scans too. Why are these listed in a different guide? There is an underground that I was looking for but I have no idea what a fair price is for it.

    Thanks I appreciate any help.

a raw copy of Bizarre Sex 9 1st printing just went for $98! It was graded 9.6. There seems to be a major upswing of interest in this book:

Dope Comix #5 always seemed to be one of the toughest issues of that series to find. The Omaha the Cat Dancer collectors may also be bringing up the price on this one with her appearance in this issue.

Sorry I wasn't able to help with any actual prices, any of the underground comix price guides are going to have outdated prices, anyway.

  6. Here are a couple that I picked up last week. Both are said to be first prints (almost certain the WW #1 is, still not sure about the SFC #2). The SFC #2 is about a 9.4/9.6 and the WW #1 is a 9.6 with an outside shot at 9.8.

There were five printings of the San Francisco Comic #2, but since they are all exactly the same, they are all considered first prints in the underground comix collecting community. I assume you probably bought these from Don Donahue (apexnovelties) as these are books he regularly lists on eBay.
