Hill Girl by Charles Williams Gold Medal s1138 9th Printing 1961 $5 SOLD to Darwination A perfect reader with a nice alternate GGA cover. For anyone who hasn't read Williams, he is one of the best noir writers out of Gold Medal. Buy this to try him out. Tight and complete with a fair amount of wear but still presentable.

The Fire Goddess by Sax Rohmer Gold Medal 283. PBO First Print December 1952 $20 SOLD to Darwination The second Sumuru novel. Glorious Good Girl art remains uncredited however it is certainly in the style of, if not by, Barye Phillips. Fine plus. Solid, square with glossy bold covers. Edgewear to the spine, no bad creases.

I'm going to try to get through more books today than I did yesterday, so I'm going to take the tack I do on cheapie threads and just do 1 pic on anything $20 and under (except a Double cover) and try to keep the descriptions down. I'll note any glaring defects on the back and of course will provide more pics if anyone asks.

Thanks for the "takes" I followed the auction closely because there was so much top notch material for the market to absorb, I hoped there might be a bargain or two among the lowly paperback cover art. There wasn't. Reefer Girl didn't surprise me, that is the most I've ever seen for a sleaze paperback cover OA. The study for it sold for 20K years ago so this was in the range where I expected it to be. Quite a few of the pb covers went far beyond estimates, the Raders and a couple of lesbian themed doing particularly well. Maybe it's time to sell my undercopy of "Reefer Girl"

Nude On Thin Ice by Gil Brewer Avon T-470 Paperback original, first print 1960 $70 FIRM SOLD to Susanville Great bargain copy. Brewer was one of the best noir writers and this is considered one of his best PBO's. Combined with an ultra-classic cover, it's no wonder this one is usually listed in 3 figures. Pretty, glossy copy. Slight spine slant, a few light bends, small chip on back.
