Fine/Fine Plus. Strong color and gloss. Has a hairline reader crease, some light spine and edgewear and surface dimpling and light creasing.

Not the first book in the series but the first with a Frazetta cover. I still don't even own one first print. Fine Plus, some light spine and edgewear, very small creases, tiny marker.

Cover art certainly depicting Comrade Napoleon Fine plus Square and glossy, has a reader crease but otherwise a smooth copy with only some light wear and finger bends.

  12. The Bat by Mary Roberts Rinehart Dell Books 652 1953 $18 SOLD to goldust40 Cool cover has raised/lowered texture to simulate bat skin and tree leaves. Cover art by Walter Brooks. The original publication in 1926 was supposedly an inspiration for The Batman. VG/Fine, has some slant and some corner creases but a great piece that is much better than usual.

  14. The Metal Monster by Abraham Merritt Avon 315 1951 $65 SOLD to N e r V Superior copy of a classic Golden Age Avon Merritt fantasy with an amazing Raymond Johnson nude GGA cover. The only one I know of to which the original art survives. Very Fine minus/Very Fine. Super glossy, square and tight. Killer spine, great colors and complete lamination. Very light wear overall, a couple of small color flecks on right edge

  16. One Night With Nora by Brett Halliday Dell D387 1st Printing November 1960 $18 SOLD to goldust40 Nice McGinnis headlights cover. Fine Plus, looks very lightly read with a slight slant, light soiling, light crease on back only.

Not rare at all in general, in fact, the all-font covered later printings are pretty common as to be expected from a best seller, but the 1st printing with the full sized Avati painted cover very much so. It took me a couple of years to find this one and it is far from perfect. I gave up trying to upgrade it. I think fat books, especially densely worded ones like this, took quite a few sittings to get through and suffered from more cover wear than a skinny volume that got devoured in one or two sittings.

  20. Even Carter Brown gets into the Vampire scene Killer copy, literally. So What Killed The Vampire by Carter Brown. Signet D2859 1st Printing March 1966. $30 SOLD to crassus Gorgeous McGinnis GGA cover. Super glossy VF or better copy. Square with almost no wear at all.

  22. Darkness Weaves by Karl Edward Wagner Pocket Books 89-598 First Printing January 1978 $45 SOLD to goldust40 Incredible Frazetta wrap around cover. The first Wagner Frazetta Kane cover I've been able to offer. Wagner's cult-like following seemingly never let these go so I've had a hard time upgrading mine. Very Fine minus. Glossy and tight with very light spine edgewear.
