  3. Registered shipping is handled with upmost security with the post office. Every time it exchanges hands or locations it has to be signed for by the delivery driver or clerk, then the carrier has to sign out for it for delivery. Now if it goes out of country or is coming from outside of the USA, then there could be problems as it is out of the post offices hands. If I was selling anything over $3000 I would send Registered.
  4. Wooo..... Nice.... I think a cleaning would help the back cover. I think it could see a bump in grade, but it really is a gamble.
  5. https://www.ebay.com/itm/CEREBUS-the-Aardvark-1-CGC-8-0-Dave-Sim-Authentic/202709415098?hash=item2f326c34ba:g:qd4AAOSwB8xdBQnE Now a 8.0 is up for sale.
  6. With the USPS there is no Driver Release Areas, that is UPS. I work for USPS and if they are leaving signature items they are not doing their job correctly. The only thing that can be left without a signature is Express with waiver. Have the USPS look up where it was scanned, the scanners have GPS and that narrows it down ask for the coordinates, if it was scanned in the post office as delivered it is considered falsifying information and can lead to the carrier being removed. Contact the postal inspectors to look into it. Someone is not doing their job correctly and it won't be fixed unless you report it. https://www.uspis.gov/report/ They have the tools to find out more about the missing package then you think.
  7. I still feel this book/series is undervalued, everyone say's they want a copy. But I wonder how many are really out there left? I'm glad we have this thread to help figure out a true #1. I keep going back and forth about buying this issue, just don't have the cash right now. It really is a rare book.
  8. Such a good series so far. Hope they can work something out to keep it going.
  9. Ah man, that sucks. I was hoping for you. There is a 8.5 graded copy on ebay now. But I didn't think the book could fit in that type of holder its in. https://www.ebay.com/itm/CEREBUS-THE-AADVARK-1-CGC-8-5-1st-print/183814143300?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
  10. If it has a bar code it has to be scanned into the system no matter what class of mail. When arrival at unit (the local post office) the scanner tells the clerks what rt it goes to, so it can be sorted to the correct route. The scanner takes a photo automactically of all parcels with a bar code when scanned. The portable scanners that the carriers use has a GPS in it to show where the parcel was scanned. It's just what is coming down the pike.
  11. I work for the USPS, go back to them and have them check the GPS as where they scanned it at. They should know where it was scanned and that could be your ticket to a refund if it was scanned in the wrong area. They also take a photo of the scan as it is being scanned in office before going out to the street if they have the new scanning machine. This will show the address and if it is correct and was delivered to the wrong area you might be able to get a refund.
  12. It's a very rare book to begin with. So not to many have sent them in to be graded or pressed. There have only been 226 graded so far. I have sent in two to get graded over time. One came back as a 7.0 and the other 6.0. This was a long time ago before I knew anything about pressing. But that book could do well with a good pressing.
  13. Looks like the real deal to me. I have owned a over 6 copies in my lifetime, all at different times. And a few fakes also.
  14. I have a few that are printed with a strip or two of ink missing from the cover, that could be graded. And I always wondered what they would grade and label it as. I might just send them in to see. Maybe someone with more knowledge would have a better idea for you. Either way thanks for posting. Love it.
  15. Very cool, I do believe they would grade them, but they wouldn't put them in slabs. I personally thought is these should be worth more then a normal book, just because they are harder to find. But to each their own.
  16. How much bigger is it to a normal comic? 1 in? or even more? Either way I love stuff like this.
  17. I am getting my daughter into Ducktales. So it is a start.
  18. Yeah, I'm sure they will show up sooner or later. Just has my mind thinking. lol.
  19. Sad day. I sold a Comics and Stories issue online, and I went to grab it to send it off and it vanished on me. So I went back through my list to double check, and I am missing about 20 WDCS issues. I went through every book I own. Which is weird because its random issues missing, and I keep all my books in order. Some were keepers and some were to be sold. But either way this sucks. I hope they show up. I don't think anyone took them as I have some real high dollar books in other long box's. Will have to ask my daughter and wife if they know anything.
  20. Told you that you would get a higher grade then mine. lol.
