  1. I still think they are a bargain. I collect them and keep 7.0 and up. I prefer 8.0 and up as they can get pricey in the 9.0s.
  2. On a book like that, I would send it off to hero restoration. They take better care for cleaning and pressing IMO. But it would do great to get cleaned and pressed.
  3. Could have? I don't really know. Just funny it wasn't caught the first time around.
  4. Just sent in a Cerebus the Aardvark 10 previous graded at 9.6. Sent in for press and regrade, very sharp looking book by looking just from the outside without cracking it. Came back as 9.4 OFF-WHITE TO WHITE Name written on 1st page. Must have been signed by Dave at some point and was missed in the first time it was slabbed. lol.
  5. It was a great movie. I and my daughter loved it.
  6. I have to ask here, what do you guys think a Carl Barks signature is worth? What value does it add to a book? I see this book here https://www.ebay.com/itm/Four-Color-386-Uncle-Scrooge-1-Signed-By-Carl-Barks/283779707200?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 And I wonder what added value does it add? Just a curious thought. Not interested in the book as I have my copies already, but was just curious. Any thoughts?
  7. Too bad you won't take a trade. It would be easier to let someone else take the risk of it being restored. I have been burnt to many times with books coming back as restored. I would take the risk if a trade, but cash is hard. But it is a risk you take sometimes. Good luck with sale. Another option is to send it in to see if it has been restored.
  8. Hard to say really, I think they are undervalued at the moment. I prefer to collect 8.0 and above as they are hard to come by in higher grade. I don't think there will be a jump in prices for lower grade under 8.0 as much as there is plenty to choose from that are under 8.0. Once you start getting into the 9.0 and up range it gets expensive really quick. As for key issues I afford what I can get. And it is usually around 5.5 area. Unless I get lucky somewhere and find it on the cheap. And show us what you get!
  9. Could be, I have seen a lot of crazy stuff.
  10. God I know the feeling, people now want the most perfect centered book they can find. I can understand page quality to an extent. But it really is getting nuts.
  11. Curious, Where did you pick it up from? I have a high grade run of Cerebus, but have not been able to find anything higher then a 8.5 for a decent price. Maybe I can add another site to my list that I can buy from. I don't think they grade any different from any other book really. I have owned 6 issues of #1 over the years and they all seem about right for their grade.
  12. Came back as: 8.5 OFF-WHITE TO WHITE Grader Notes: spine stress lines breaks color very light, multiple rub full top of front cover breaks color Census Highest 9.2 - 1 copy Universal 9.0 - 2 copies Universal - 1 Restored 8.5 - 2 copies Universal - 1 Restored I'm very happy with this!! Didn't think it would go that high. I was thinking a 7.0 - 7.5. Glad I got it pressed.
  13. Yes we should!!! Haha, but it would be interesting to see what it could pull. I think it could reach $16k or more. It is the highest graded. Now lets see if a Cerebus #1 9.8 shows up.
  14. I would like to see it go up for bid, just to see how much it would fetch!
  15. Grade is in. 8.0 OFF-WHITE TO WHITE Grader Notes: light wear all edges back cover scuff right top of back cover
  16. Whole image looks darker, even the labels.
