  1. Some might not know, surprisingly enough. The seller even has a couple others from that series listed including the Flash Comics 1 reprint (which I don't think had the reprinted glossy cover) and the  Whiz Comics 2(1) without the tagline "Gangway for Captain Marvel" on the bottom.

I still remember Robbie driving the transporter like a maniac early in the movie.

Yep, that scene sticks in my mind, too, along with him carrying the lead shielding - "The whole load hardly comes to ten tons."

And boy did that movie have some of the best painted space backgrounds of any of the great 50's sci-fi films. Classic all-around!

  3. HI GAtor, the other day I picked up my third copy of The Flying Marvels paper dolls and the solo version, Flying Captain Marvel. I know these are fairly plentiful, along with several others like Captain Marvel Jr's Ski Jump and Musical Evening with Hoppy, as well as a few non-Marvel Family titles like Fun Farm and Comic Capers. I had always heard that they were part of a warehouse find many years ago. Do you know anything about the backstory? How many do you guess were found of each - hundreds? Thousands?

I wonder what the Flying Marvels would fetch had they NOT been found in quantity. It's a pretty cool display piece for something so widely available.

    Thanks!

Thinking about all the mind-bendingly fun junk you have...how on earth did you ever settle on an avatar?

Good question! But settle he did and it perfectly suits his free-wheelin' (not Franklin) way, especially when he's in a mood to crack wise.

You know how they say people eventually look like their dog and vice versa? Robot Man is somehow well represented by a Japanese toy. (thumbsu

So so so so so so so classic it hurts!

It's not just hyperbole: the whole book is an under-rated classic (to the extent there IS such a thing), and the top 1/3 of the book is the best of all time!! That's right. The BEST of all time!

Logo. Colors. Genre. Tagline. Photo inset. Right down to the last detail, like the tremble of the gun as it blasts the rats.
