  1. It already has. All of the keys have been going up, some of them quite alot. It's annoying
  2. Some recent additions to my pc. I’ve shared these in the silver age sections, but hey why not cross post. Everyone loves cross posting right?
  3. Pretty cool to be able to somewhat trace the history of the book back a quarter of a century. It does present much better now after the pressing work. Looks like a good example of a book that can't be improved technically with press/clean due to the nature of the flaws and the overall wear, but can very much be improved from a presentation standpoint.
  4. yeah the logic just doesn't hold up, at least with moderns from an era when they were still being published in huge quantities. The increased interest/demand in a book like NM 98 just means that many more copies sent off to CGC which defeats the purpose. Would make a little more sense if they were only talking about very recent moderns with significantly lower print runs, but of course without time passing as context, it's more of a gamble with those books.

  6. holy christmas https://www.ebay.com/itm/1963-X-men-1-First-Edition-Uncanny-XMen-Comic-MARVEL-Rare-Original-CGC-/274714943214?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l10137.c10&nordt=true&rt=nc&orig_cvip=true
  7. IMO this is clearly a popped staple and not a recessed/manufacturing defect staple.
  8. Nice, I'll put that one on the list of spots to check out soon. And ya, that's what I meant about Midtown Comics. They have a large "back issue" set up, but its all recent drek and by "drek" I mean uber drek. They must make some money off it or surely they wouldn't waste that much floor space on it? Someone must be buying all that drek. Tourists maybe.
  9. Ya I'm not getting why it necessarily has to be up to us to campaign to have an obvious cancer to the boards banned.
  10. I'm looking but don't see where he is posting on instagram. Possibly he deleted whatever it was he did post? Unless its on an alternate account or he's commenting somewhere on someone else's posts
  11. had a pleasant, stress free transaction with Chaz earlier this year. He bought books from me, and I'd sell to him again or buy from him any time.
  12. I personally feel Polonsky shouldn't have the burden of nominating him. I get why it'll probably be required that he do so, and I hope he does.
  13. So what is the procedure to have @dylanthekid banned from the CGC forums for his latest stunt, this time in the probation discussion forum? He adds nothing of worth to the forums, is continually trolling and/or causing strife, and IMO doesn't deserve to continue posting here.
  14. I dunno if you saw his latest nonsense, but it was a doozy. Much like his brain. a big ol doozy.
  15. oh my lord did you just dump those packing peanuts out ALL OVER THE FLOOR YOU MADMAN?
  16. Midtown Comics is fun to spend a little time in now and then. They get just about all of the weekly new releases, and I could grab variants that my LCS either didn't get or didn't get enough of back when I still bought that stuff. They have a decent selection of TPBs, collected editions, etc. And lots of comic book related collectibles and knick knacks. But yes, their back issue set up is awful. Just pure dreck and over priced. I assume people do buy some of it? The Times Square shop dedicates a not insignificant amount of floor space to their back issue bins. And I doubt I'd ever buy bigger silver or bronze age books from them. They only have a small number of wall books up at any given time anyway. Plus the prices are a turn off even if I were interested.
  17. This is a good point. A decent % of X-Men #1's climb in value is certainly the book "catching up" after being severely undervalued for ages and ages. The market will correct at some point, likely, but I doubt its a book that will ever be as inexpensive as it had been over the last couple of decades. Having just recently finally gotten my own copy, I am in no hurry to sell it. I intend it to be my keeper as I am working on completing the run. But I can't lie and say the thought isn't deep, far, deep in the back of my mind that at some point I could trade up to a more significant comic like an AF15 or FF1, two books I'd also love to have a nice copy of. But for now no way. I love my copy.
  18. says issues 7 through 12. My parents got me this by mistake when I asked for the Deluxe volume for Christmas.
  19. I recall another recent case involving a similarly small sum and some people just being adamant that such a small sum just didn't matter. It does matter. Who doesn't honor a ten dollar purchase? Bums, that's who.
  20. oak, we talked about this. First rule of Warren Horror Mags club is pooey! These mags are dumb you don't want them don't listen to Oak he's nuts nobody cares about Vampirella keep buying Ultimate Fantasy Fallout #181 and do not buy Warren mags they will only make your teeth rot out and your eyeballs explode your mom will be pretty angry about it at Sunday dinner so please don't
  21. If I had to make a highly uneducated guess, I'd say a likely peak would be just after the first trailer of the first MCU X-Men team film. That could be several years ugh
