  1. oh dang, really? that stinks. I'll add them to my baddies list. edited to say: although to be fair, I've bid on and won a few complete runs of bronze titles that came in as advertised. so *shrug*
  2. this seller lists tons of runs and sets all the time. Wouldn't be surprised if they've listed a similar run. Or maybe a sale fell through on this set, who knows.

  4. ya good grab. Better track down a #50 as well if you haven't already.
  5. I wish I had, it's not that much more than the one I'm getting and it's much nicer
  6. I just bought a mid grade X-Men #49
  7. Astonishing Tales 30 - 9.4 OW $17 take
  8. If I had to choose one more Silver Age mega key to go after now that I have my X-Men #1, it'd be Hulk #1 hands down.
  9. I think he meant people who would renege on deals might think twice about it, not that honorable members would think twice about doing business on the boards.
  10. If the seller had sold the book, after being explicitly told by the original buyer that they were not going to pay for it, then no that buyer would have zero grounds to nominate the seller to the PL if they then sold the book to someone else. Even if there are private communications dated before this public PL nomination indicating the original buyer who reneged was willing after the fact to pay in a "couple of weeks", those weren't the original terms of the sale and the seller is under no obligation to entertain much less accept those new terms. Regarding increasing instances of non payers and it not being reported/made public via the PL nomination forum, if we are going to have zero tolerance then how do we encourage members to not shrug off those bad deals and go through the hassle of nominating the dead beats? It's either a big deal that the sales forum, and the boards in general, are a safe place to participate in the hobby for both sellers and buyers, or it isn't. No? I'd rather we see more nominations, and those conflicts get resolved and any dead beats becoming known quantities to the rest of the community so we are aware, then the boards be filled with non payer landmines because too few members feel like dealing with the hassle.

    $5.99?

Yeah, no thanks. I still have ASM and Daredevil on my pull list for some reason. If they raise prices again then I'll probably drop them. It's bad enough they come out non stop and slip in the occasional ten dollar issue. 6 bucks a comic, inflation or no, can't be good for business.
  12. Well I WAS going to look for a nice lower mid grade copy of that book soon, but I guess that's out the window for the foreseeable future. oof
  13. I grade my comics like I eat my steaks:
  14. wtf Guess I should send in my copy to get it graded and get in on the action. this is silly
  15. No one wanted your Tomb of Dracula #10 in VF for seven lousy bucks? Lucky you! Every time I see price lists like this, and this from 1991 no less!, I just shake my head at how much things have changed. Thanks for sharing!
  16. I'm fine with ranking IH #1 and FF #1 above X-Men #1, I think it's the rational and logical ranking as it always has been. X-Men #1 is a much more important book than the market has historically recognized, it's in my top 5 and not because I'm biased in my love of the X-Men. I also want a IH #1, but I'd have to sell way too much of my collection to get one. Maybe I should. Plenty of my books are replace-able, while a IH #1 pretty much isn't.
