  3. I am in and will be making a new post with my prize when I am back home in NY next week and able to go through my dr...uh, my comics. Just posting that I'm in to hopefully motivate others to also GET IN THERE!
  4. I don't want my critique of the grading standards I experienced to make it seem like I have had anything but a good experience with dealing with MCS so far. They are great, IMO. For both buying and selling. Can only wish everyone else conducted themselves as well as they do.
  5. Yes, mistakes will happen. That's life. What is important is how you handle those mistakes. And CGC acted like complete dumbarses until CGC Mike was able to intervene. If CGC had RIGHT AWAY properly reviewed the tape and discovered their mistake, rather than putting the submitter through this completely ridiculous ordeal, how much different would things look now. They certainly have a need to protect themselves from scammers, which is one major reason for recording the box openings in the first place, but how they handled this very legitimate lost book case says alot about them as a company, and none of it is good.
  6. Some of them are fun. Buy the ones you like, or don't buy any at all. Worrying about whether they are "worth it" or not defeats the purpose of them in the first place, IMO. Its so rare that any particular modern comic pops and maintains any kind of real value. Best bet in general is just to wait a few months or a year and buy the ones you like for, usually, much less money than when they are fresh of the presses.
  7. I'm sorry, but CGC losing/destroying a 4k (potentially much higher) book and only after causing the submitter unnecessary stress/heartache and literally being dragged over the coals here on the forums over it did they finally do what was necessary to get to the bottom of things, and now possibly can only offer cash as compensation for this ridiculous situation, and loss of a true gem of a magazine, is in no way, shape or form "win win."
