  1. I don't believe there was an exclusive deal with a facilitator. Mr. Starlin just started charging $5 per book on his own for graded books and failed to collect payment from the person requesting the sigs. Mr. Starlin then went to CGCs booth after not collecting the fee to get the persons information and was told that was against policy. Then everything snowballed.....
  2. I agree that most variants are not worth squat but the artist/writer may see some selling signed and graded initially for a large sum of money and think that value was from their signature alone. Maybe some creators see some variants signed and graded going for $500 or $750 (like an Adam Hughes LoSH variant or Harley Quinn 1 variant) CGC SS 9.8 and think that it is solely based on the autograph alone not realizing a book is a variant that is hot for that moment and don't see the prices after the book cools and comes back to Earth.
  3. Yeah, it's not getting better either. Mr. Starlin has posted a more descriptive reason, from his POV, as to what happened and why he made this decision. It's on his Facebook account for any of those interested. Again the comments section was nothing but "great job Jim", "they are screwing you over", "getting rich off your signatures" and "not true fans." Just awesome stuff in general after what appears to be just a minor accident.
  4. Do any of these creators mind when a publisher takes one of their creations and slaps it on a 1:50, 1:100 or a 1:1,000,000 variant and markets/sells it for insane amounts or is just anger towards someone like me getting 4 books signed and graded at a Con?
  5. I saw the Facebook post too and was disheartened. Especially when I see the comments from people that don't get books signed and graded. I just don't get that animosity from other collectors. For Mr. Starlin I'm sure he has his reasons and has to do what he has to do.

  7. Above is an update from Adam Hughes' Facebook page regarding autographs and head sketches.
  8. I pointed all of that out in my comment and gave an example of me submitting a book to facilitator for a book to be signed. Hopefully it helps but please other board members feel free to weigh in on Facebook.
  9. Adam Hughes will sign the first 5 books for free. Every book after the 5th book is $5 per book for a signature. The money goes to animal charities.
  10. If you have another round I have to get in on it. I can be late on a car payment for art this fantastic.
  11. Thanks to Jamie Tyndall for the sketch and Brian Reber for the colors but a big shoutout to @TheGirlHasNoName for all of the assistance at the CGC booth during SC Comic Con. Thanks for the assistance with this book and the others I got signed.
