  8. A great story reminds me of one of my own .I was living in Las Vegas Nevada about 1973 a teenager myself and Tom Heiner proprietor of the local and only comic book shop at the time “Friendly Neighborhood comic book store “ decided to take a bunch of us teenagers to a Los Angeles comic show one Saturday morning . We all piled into his Volkswagen van and made it to the show early before it had opened . My dad had surprised me just before we left with a gift of 400 dollars and told me to have a great time . My allowance has been 5 dollars a week so instead of a months savings of 20 I had a fortune. The show was great so many dealers all with books I had barely heard about let alone seen . I hadn’t been there 10 minutes when laying flat on a table was a Submariner 1 he wanted 400 for it way high for the time but I didn’t know or care and walked away with the book.My first Timely , I still have the book and the memory of that day . I found a pile of bargains for the remaining 20.00 and on the way home that night we all displayed what we had found and exchanged stories of the day . A thank you to Tom if he is still out there !!!
