  2. I hope eBay keeps putting out these coupons! Have used the last 3. $600 Buy-It-Now > offered $500 > $525 counter offer > 15% off > $464 shipped on a $550 90 day GPA book >
  3. I agree 100% with you Dale. I go to SDCC every year and it's still my favorite con - it has the most comic book dealers than any other con, and they bring their best stock...there's just A LOT of other stuff and A LOT of people. Thankfully I enjoy buying comics and all the other stuff too. As many others have noted, if you are only interested in comics, just go to Terry's show in Yorba Linda. I'll be skipping TorpedoCon because I'm already traveling to San Diego 3 days later and will see all the dealers there anyway, with more stock. I doubt many people will be extending their SDCC trip to attend the weekend before, but it seems like it'll be an awesome event for locals.

  5. The challenge with these eBay coupons is finding fairly priced Buy-It-Now books that aren't 100% over GPA. At best you can get a book at GPA after discount. Which I did
  6. Thank you! ...for not getting into a bidding war with me
  7. UPDATE: Hey everyone, thanks for all the feedback! I successfully returned the book to the seller for a full refund, but the seller did not reply to any of my messages during the return, it was purely transactional. I'm just glad I got my money back. I've heard from a couple people that this seller bought a big collection and a lot of the books were restored and have ended up on eBay with no mention of resto. There have also been returns of restored books which ended up back on eBay, still without any resto disclosed. Word of advice, just look at photos closely and make sure to ask the seller to confirm whether or not there's resto. This particular seller told me there wasn't any restoration on it, although he simply could have believed there wasn't any - I won't go so far as to accuse him of knowingly selling a restored book as unrestored. However, receiving returns for undisclosed restoration and then continuing to re-list them as unrestored is very, very shady.
  8. For those with eBay refund experience, what happens if I request a refund/return from the seller and he does not reply and just ignores my request? Will eBay step in and refund me, in addition to any action they take against the seller? I just want to get ahead of it and be prepared in case the seller for some reason decides to ignore me and not make good on their very clearly-stated return policy. I would hate to get screwed over, obviously.
  9. Thanks for sharing the pics. In comparing both of the members' copies above with mine, it seems clear that the right edge has been trimmed. I also suspect the same of the back cover.
  10. Damn that is beautiful! Harley always has the goods. Since my Contact 12 dream has been shattered, don't hesitate to reach out if you ever want to sell yours
  11. Agreed, I've already filed a formal request for a refund and I hope it goes smoothly with no issues. I don't expect any since his listing clearly states, "Your satisfaction is unconditionally guaranteed. Any item you purchase from us may be returned within 2 weeks for a full refund if you are not satisfied." I don't want to throw the seller under the bus, as he may simply have not known the book (or other books he sold) had resto. But I'm basing it on the fact that I chatted with a member of the community who saw the collection in person and his assessment was that a lot of the big books were restored, and clearly so. Now if the seller is knowingly selling restored books without disclosing it, then that's very shady. I did, however, message the seller asking for more details about the book, specifically if there's any resto, and he said there wasn't any. The eBay seller is jscomics, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt first. He's got over 65k feedback at 99.7% positive, so he's not new to selling comics by any means.
  12. Found a pic of a 9.0 copy that sold on HA a few years ago, compared to the copy I got. Definitely looks like the right edge has been trimmed!
  13. Your assessment is spot-on with my thoughts about the book. Appreciate the insight!
