  1. Awesome pages Jay, perhaps you should go on vacation more often lol!
  2. Twice-up Jim Lee Punisher title splash from Punisher War Journal #11 (1989). A picture-perfect Punisher splash that fits my collection to a "P". Link

  4. Happy Father’s Day everyone. At last month’s LiveCon, I picked up a fun 70s splash featuring “The Origin of Spider-man” by Jim Mooney. Spidey
  5. The HA description mentions X-Factor #67 (1991) includes a battle over the future of young Nathan Summers and the “time-twisting origin of Cable”. However, X-Men 201 is recognized as first Cable as Nathan Summers and was published 5 years earlier than this page from X-Factor #67.
  6. "What is Cabal?" Alex, I'll take OA Market Manipulation for $800...
  7. Lately, I've tweaked my approach to reflect today's frothy market conditions. For prep, I try to prioritize and limit my targets to just 3 pieces on Thurs and 3 pieces on Sat-- otherwise, I'm scattering bids with minimal/no chances of winning-- with a goal to pick up 2 pieces (1 major, 1 minor) every auction. If one target goes above my price ceiling in pre-live bidding (happens alot more these days), I'll replace with the next prioritized lot. Depending on results on my targets , I then focus on other pieces "downstream" in the lot order for each session.
  8. This Felix podcast episode is old (2015) but relevant to this topic and perhaps helpful to review before your visit http://www.felixcomicart.com/podcastdetail.asp?pid=40
  9. With HA’s anime auction coming up, I wanted to share my Shogun Warriors #5 cover (1979) by Herb Trimpe and Al Milgrom. Shogun Warriors was a line of Japanese robot toys licensed by Mattel during the late 1970s based on then-popular anime shows. Only the 2nd cover on CAF from the title. Link

  11. Simone Bianchi MARVEL SIRENS X-Men Poster Art published as 2012 San Diego ComicCon Exclusive and S/N prints. Great composition with Phoenix, Elektra, Psylocke, Medusa, Storm, and the White Queen. Huge 14” x 24”and vivid colors. Link
  12. It’s all about value, specifically compelling prices. It took a few episodes for Mike and Anthony to price closer to market to sell in 30 seconds instead of 30 days (if ever) on their websites, they eventually got to ~50% sell thru rate. Excited to see how Glen and Bechara approach pricing for these early shows.
  13. Here's a UNICORN Trimpe Hulk splash that recaps Hulk's entire career as a founding member of the Avengers and the Defenders... 20+ fellow super-heroes on the page plus explains Hulk’s relationship with Betty Ross and how Banner learned to control Hulk’s transformations. Link
  14. For me, nothing says 1970s Marvel like a classic Kirby Black Panther cover. For Black Panther #8 (1977), Kirby drew a huge image of T'Challa looming protectively over his family. MCU rumors are that the sequel BP film entitled "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" will explore the "mythology" of Wakanda and focus on characters. within T'Challa's extended family. If so, we'll get a closer look at Ishanta, Joshua Itobo, Khanata, N'Gassi, Zuni and Jakarra-- most are introduced in this issue. Black Panther 8
  15. Mike Grell WARLORD #25 pp2-3 (1979) DPS A stunning “Vertical DPS” of Travis and his future wife, Tara. Grell’s craftmanship shines depicting Tara with her delicate fingers making ripples in the water beneath a lush oasis, conjuring a classic image of The Warlord in battle. Warlord 25 DPS
