  1. Totally your preference. This only becomes a question if you are planning to sell it. Most would chose the photo cover for resale purposes unless the art was done by someone of comic fame/lore. For example my Ash Gonzales covers are damn near perfect, in my opinion, but he is not a well known artist and thus the value on the open market is questionable. Again, I am not collecting to resale...I chose Ash because he does excellent work, is local, and is not terribly expensive. I have both photo covers and OA in my collection and sometimes both for the same character. Its all what you prefer.
  2. Well here it is in all its encapsulated glory.....pictures do know justice!
  3. you will be the first person I contact. Never once gave her any input beyond what character I wanted. It was worth the wait. Now, we see what CGC thinks
  4. .....well it helps that Ash is a personal friend and lives close to where I work, which most of those covers are his. Have one in the works for Palooza and two for AlamoCity. It's a blessing and a curse to have him so close. We are always talking about shows and what he can do
  5. Thank you Ron, looks like we have the same tastes. Was on her waiting list since last year.....and had to save. Great Wonder Woman, beautiful piece.
  6. Well since we are sharing our Natali Sanders....I just received this today. Headed to CGC as we speak. She said she hoped she did the character justice......uh, I give that a hell yes!
  7. I have used them both and can't speak more highly of them. I use dorkbuzz for most, if not all, Texas shows and have never been dissapointed.
  8. Sorry, did not mean to offend anyone....like I said more power to the seller
  9. Like I said there is a sucker born every day
  10. I would be interested if he really wanted to sell it but obviously he does not....$8,500 really. That's a joke. But hey, there is a sucker born everyday
  11. Is this the same boardie selling their copy on eBay for $8,500...WTF? Are you kidding me.
  12. Not much I can say but DAMN! Queen Hela herself. Big time kudos to Doug Peters for this one.
  13. Old Man Logan #21 s/s Jeff Lemire - $115 Secret Empire #0 s/s Nick Spencer (Story) and Mark Brooks (cover art) plus Rod Reis (prologue art) - $125 I'll take it
  14. .....that's only if a photo cover exists for that particular celebrity. If a photo cover does not exist then original art would be an option
  15. You did not miss the Robbie signing. It was postponed and should be later this year. I have not decided but may be cracking this Frank Kadar for that signing. Great books by the way!
  16. If you are planing on asking Ash then rest assured your book will be well taken care of. All covers to date have come back 9.8
  17. For instance....I have a Goonies cover and a cover for Val Kilmer for Alamo City in May. While there are comics that exist for both, both are tough to get in high grade.....I have looked. So, its easier to go with original art on a blank.
  18. It depends on the collector. seanfish said it best. Most of my original art from Frank and Ash were done solely due to there being no photo cover that existed for that particular celebrity. Certainly, depending on the artist, there is more value in photo covers. But I am not in it for the money and while I own photo covers I would not trade my original art for anything......I mean have you seen those covers from Ash and Frank!
