Not very much in the way of Halloween pulp covers. I didn't know about that Rangeland romances. Here are the only two I have

Man, I was really hoping I would not hear of this. Really strikes home to all of us collectors. Fires, floods and hurricanes are the enemies of the stuff we cherish so much. I just consider myself a caretaker for future generations. At the end of the day, it is just stuff.
Your two babies are what really matters. What a beautiful photo. Your family is what matters. Glad you are safe and well. You will make it through this. When you are settled, let us know what you collected. We will be more than happy to help you out!

Real cool! I love Dime Mystery Pulps. Some great covers. Stories don't always pan out as well as the covers sometimes. My favorite pulps to read are the Spider and Strange Detective Mysteries. Stories never disapoint and are some of the most disturbing stuff.

"Rare Collectibles" Why do people pay so much for stuff like this??? I know for a fact, if I found those, I sure wouldn't advertise it with a display like that. No one needs to know. Makes they prices drop for everybody.

A cool one came in the mail today...
    Blue Bolt V4#4 Nov 1943
A kind of "under the radar" WWII classic. Covers pictures the attack on Pearl Harbor. Has a cool Pearl Harbor story inside as well.
Glad to have found a copy.

A common problem at garage sales as well as thrift stores. They are hit and miss. Usually miss out here. And when you do find comics, they are usually moderns which I have no interest in. I do a lot of other stuff besides comics so my odds are better. But even then it's pretty sparse. I go to old areas mostly. Most of the "old folks" have moved out and the younger folks have moved in. A lot of times, stuff just dumped in the trash or given to Goodwill. You usually end up driving around wasting gas and end up buying something you really don't want anyway. I have scored but not for a long time.
I drive up and look at the people holding it. If they are older, that is a good sign. If there are lots of boxes, also a good sign especially if dusty. Usually is plastic kids toys, excercise equipment and hosehold junk.
I would rather go to estate sales and flea markets. More chance of a score. A lot more people selling "stuff". A lot of general dealers shop the garage sales. I would be much happier to pay them a little profit to spare myself the time and hassle. Most of the time, they don't really know what they have if they are general antique dealers. I do a lot better at those.
Consistancy and patience is the key. Patience is a tough commodity in today's world. If you do it enough, you will eventually score. Don't give up after one or two weekends of hunting.

OK, last one and this is a RARE one!
Hop Harrigan The 99th Squadron 1945 DC Giveway. Entitled "A Ride in the Sky". This was reprinted from Comic Cavalcade #9. 8 pages on newsprint with no staple. There were a small series of these done. Three are listed in the Overstreet guide. This one is not. The others say "Comic Cavalcade" at top. This one does not. On the back at bottom written lightly in pencil is " From the Southern Confence for Human Welfare 1945". Probably only printed in very small quantities for this event.
Great contents featuring Hop Harrigan and about the US superiority in the air against the Nazis. Features black pilots taking the Nazi planes out in a well oiled fashion. Lots of action and embarrasment for the Nazi general in the story especially to be beaten by "non aryan" soldiers. Important messages for the time.
A beautiful copy with no tears, or missing pieces. Was folded once in center lightly. Nice off white to lightly yellowed paper. Amazing to have survived so nicely.
There have been a couple of the other non-nazi ones that sold on ebay in the past couple of years for a lot of money but not this one.
If this one does not sell, I will either hang on to it or have it pressed, slabbed and send it to auction where I'm sure it will do quite well.
WAS $1,100.   NOW $950. for an unlisted 1945 DC Nazi giveaway!

OK, start out with something real cool you just don't see very often...
EC Fan addict membership card and cloth patch. This is iconic stuff if you are an EC fan. This is the 1971 re-issue version. Exactly the same as the original but a 1971 date on the card. Card has a couple small light surface spots where the very top of layer of the paper is worn off. No creases or tears. No writing on front. Patch is mint and un-used. Almost as hard to get as the original. An early fandom re-issue piece.
    WAS $75.   Now $60.
