  1. thought it was 46 & 47 It is. Not hot, averaging $8-$10 for 47. Plenty available = no demand.
  2. Because why pay inflated eBay prices when you can still nab these from the $1.00 bins?? I bet the number of 9.8's goes up once the movie news for Bloodshot gets a trailer.
  3. I just picked up some more VEI (New) books. Rai is so good for those who like his original story in the flip of Magnus 5-8.
  4. Cyclops variant New X-Men 115 nabbed at lcs for $2.70. Waiting to see what the raw 9.8 () does on the bay. My local store also only ordered 25 copies of Kanan. They were shorted 23 copies, and luckily I nabbed the 1:25. Not a lot of numbers in on that book yet though, Missed a few more Valiants for deals, Solor 10 is getting expensive. Again. Only a 23 year deja vu....
  5. Get the 1:100. I know I will be on the hunt for one. I have the entire Inhuman run. Going to me a major shake up in the Marvel U after Uncanny X-Men 600. All because the new Marvel owners have a ruthless way of getting around a restricted word. Changing history. If you want to know more, I am getting some scans of Inhuman together for an appreciation thread. Will have it posted after work today.
  6. ^ Make sure it has the coupon! You will see more sub 9.0 copies hitting the census as people dig these out of long boxes after 15+ years. The Valiant line was hard hit by the crash, and many expensive books were mistreated over the last 10+ years and thought to be worthless by many. 9.8's are the best to collect and will hold the most value, but don't count out the market on lower grades. Especially with the story of Valiant and their resurrection from the $1.00 bins. Not specifically Harbinger #1, but many key issues. Solar 10 1st print is so hard to find as a clean raw copy in the wild.
  7. I believe Jim Shooter said that in the editorial section of... Harbinger #1. I would say more like Uncanny X-Men #1 with it being new characters that deal with how their powers effect the world and themselves, teenagers, death, life, and a new way of approaching a superhero team that no other comic publisher was doing at the time.
  8. Oh. I agree with you on the X-O #4, but like Eternal Warrior #4 vs Rai 0 vs EW #5, the market has chosen 4 as the key. Solar 3 sales were low because they are so few available.
  9. So I went and did a thing: Harbinger #1 X-O Manowar #1 X-O Manowar #4 Magnus #5 Eternal Warrior #4 Archer & Armstrong #0 Rai #0 Solar Shadowman #1 Shadowman #8 I am sure print numbers and availablity have something to do with it, but this would be my best guess at what books are being focused the most. There are likely more places getting these keys ready for sale and some of you sitting on 50+ copies. Harbinger is still the wild card. So many names in that book over it's run, if any were to be introduced into a movie/show, it would cause the run on that book to continue going back up. I hope RAW #1 start to hit 4 figures! In 1992, I was looking for a harbinger #1 and was finding no coupon books going for $200.00 back then. With coupon was over $500!!!!!! IN 92!!!!!! Imagine what this market does to that book raw and slabbed alike.
  10. I am looking into new Valiant as well for a good read really digging new Rai. I like taking an older idea and giving it to new creative teams and slightly tweaking/reimaging to make writing a key point. Hence my addiction to current day Transformers books by IDW. All this hype is clearly working. Well I did take your advice, but went for a mix: Harbinger #2 and #4 with coupons, and Rai #3 and #4. also nabbed a Shadowman #1 and #2 The list gets smaller and still gets longer. would like some raws of: X-O 1 & 4, Rai 1 & 2, Solar 10 1st print And while I was distracted with he awesome Rai book chasing, and a cart item or 4 going not available before I could check out, X-O #4 became the hot book of the originals on eBay. Now I regret passing on some of the cheaper ones. Still in disbelief that I was able to score some of the books that were impossible to score as a kid. I blame Wizard!
  11. HUGE picture. Early issues of Rai or Early issues of Harbinger. Which would you shoot for?
  12. Nope not me. But he sounds like someone I'd likely have some things in common.
  13. You guys are killing me with this throwback thread. And the artwork too! It feels good when you get there. But then it just makes you think what the next collecting goal will be. Transformers. I have a bad enough habit there. I think i sometimes do more marketing for IDW than they do. I tried collecting this stuff 20+ years ago when these books first came out, which was impossible due to the asking prices back then. I am doing way better at getting keys now, and cheaper too. Solar 3: $6.00 Harbinger 1: $5.00 I know this was unreal for some, but it felt like the universe balancing itself back out because I lost a longbox somewhere. I cannot even remember how many books went missing (or Sold by my parents at garage sales I didn't know about) or stolen. I start to think "didn't I have that one..."
  14. Wow, did some research on this Shadowman 0 rarity, and found this. Shadowman #0 "0-NON chromium: Non-chromium cover, $2.50 cover price in a white VALIANT logo box. It is Six times rarer than the $3.50 Chromium version as it had a print run estimated to be 35,000." Can anyone confirm this? Seems low on the print number.
  15. Got rid of my eight copies a few years back. Image 0. Sold mine for $50.00 in VF condition with a Jim Lee and a Marc Silvestri Signature. Good haul at the dollar bins today: Solar 10 II Print Bloodshot 1 Bloodshot 6 Hard C.O.R.P.S. 5 Eternal Warrior 6 Shadowman 10 and a Shadowman 0 NON Chromium cover. Supposedly rare as hell.
  16. I want to thank you all for what is mostly great information. However......Simply reading speculation in this thread makes the market value of anything posted in it move so fast, I feel it. PLZStahp. I want my Kanan copy too! haha It's pretty funny though, I was watching this thread alone for weeks before I got a screen name because I could see the volatility .
  17. 55-60 are S. Platt's first artworks. And those are Infinity Crusade crossovers IIRC.
  18. This title is an acquired taste, you either have love for it or have pretty much ignored it! haha I know readership is low, but does anyone have any slabs to share? Any raws that are RI or RE covers, or cool one off sketch covers even?
  19. EW#4 Nov 92 Rai #0 Nov 92 EW#5 Dec 92 EW#5 is Bloodshot's second appearance. EW#4 and Rai #0 are the key books. This hasn't changed in the last 22 years. Just needed to have some reinforcement on the information. Thanks!
  20. Which one came out 1st? Rai 0 or EW #5? We know EW 4 predates Rai 0, so the tie breaker would be that.
  21. Valiant did this to us to stretch sales of books. Marvel did it right, Last Page of story, counted as Cameo, If on more than 1 page Full Appearance. Remember how Master Darque's face is not seen until Eternal Warrior #6? But his voice is heard in the back of a limo in Shadowman #7, and his torso is in Shadowman #8. no face until EW #6 though, and people used to chase that book back in the 90's as well.
  22. Have to move fast man. Thor: God Of Thunder #12 VF copies
