  1. I'm impressed... Jim Sadly, that is probably the only decent copy of that issue that I've seen. I don't know why I never see any better copies! Yep...I was surprised there haven't been more higher than 8.5 graded. I'm sure they're out there though... Jim
  2. I'm impressed! I'd say it was undergraded as well...at least a 9.0...maybe 9.2... Jim
  3. Haven't contributed any scans in awhile to this thread... So since we're looking at 100 Pagers...here's one that toughie in HG... Bottom right edge damaged was caused by SCS...actually damaged is a little strong...it's just bent in a little... Unexpected #161 Jim
  4. Really? That's odd... Have you tried putting a sheet behind the slab when you scan? Maybe your scanner has an automatic focus feature that the slab is screwing with... Jim
  5. The printing plates must have slipped on the cover causing a severe "blurring" effect. I wouldn't have graded it any higher than 4.0... Jim
  6. Then it's a passion I don't understand. I wouldn't do any restoration to the comic because of my passion for it. Would seem like I was gouging the comic... Think of it this way...I see a color flake. I get color flake repaired. Book looks flawless. But everytime I look at the comic I know the flake was there...so what's the point? Jim
  7. And I bet #29 was the important one for you in the group...doesn't it always work that way? Jim
  8. I take it you bought these from Heritage raw? Jim
  9. As always happens...people see the comics selling well and all of sudden they're everywhere. Just reinforces the notion that no late 60s and newer comics are all that rare in high grade... Jim
  10. This cover is definitely in my Top 3 All Time Best Adams Covers! Only DC Special #6 and Witching Hour #13 are better in my opinion... Jim
  11. Ah...but be content that the HOM cover is by far the best of the bunch... Jim
  12. Nah...he's just 3 stories tall... Great cover and very nice copy! Jim
  13. Professor Coffin #21 - Wayne Howard Cover Contains new stories by Howard, Joe Staton, and a sci-fi story by Tom Sutton. Jim
  14. Professor Coffin #20 - Wayne Howard Cover Contains new stories by Howard, Joe Staton, and everyone's Charlton horror favorite, Tom Sutton. Jim
  15. Professor Coffin #19 - Wayne Howard Cover Contains new stories by Howard, Joe Staton, and a really nicely done one by Jack Abel. Jim
  16. Tales of the Mysterious Traveler #15 - Staton cover? All Ditko issue - At least two are new, third probably is too... Jim
  17. Here are the other last gasp horror issues (I've already posted the Dr Graves issues) for Charlton before folding up shop in 1986. Thanks to Shiver for identifying them... Tales of the Mysterious Traveler #14 - Steve Ditko Cover Has a new interior story by Ditko. Jim
  18. Just arrived to the AWE4ONE casa... Ghost Manor #77 - Last Issue Jim
  19. Definitely a geat deal! Congrats! And I love winning lots like these also...there's nothing quite like opening up a box and having to sort through a hundred Bronze comics! Jim
  20. If you want to check, why don't you just compare your copies with those on the MH or mycomicshop websites? Jim
  21. US Version of Master of Kung Fu 47 would have been 30 cents and you have 10p Nova 13 is a possible 35 cent variant and came out the same month as my Cap 213. The fact that both are 12p either means... 1. We both have variants 2. All possible US 35 cent price variants were increased across the board to 12p The trick would be to find a 10p version of a possible price variant book. Has this topic ever been discussed before? I'll see what I can find out. You're also assuming the UK price is tied to changes in the US price. I'd think the exchange rate would have a more direct effect on the price of UK copies than normal US price hikes. Jim
  22. Here was the standard (older) layout and even this was newer than the band across the entire top edge... The Dr Graves are the only Charltons (other than a Charlton Bullseye) that I've seen with the title logo band on the corner and the Charlton logo out in space on the right. Were there any other Charltons with this cover layout? Specifically horror titles? Jim
