  1. I know it'll be seen as blasphemy...but showing off DCs is starting to get old. So I'll give them a break... Madhouse #95 Grey Morrow cover Jim
  2. I like it also! Never seen that one before. Or more likely, haven't paid good enough attention... Jim
  3. Difficult? Maybe. But they are out there. Maybe I've been lucky but I've been able to get the last issues on eBay recently for relatively cheap. In fact, I scored very nice copies of ST #46 and Ghostly Tales #169 for about a buck apiece on eBay a month or so ago. And those weren't the only copies I'd come across over the last 4 months or so... And just today I hit the BIN on this low print run lot. So they turn up with a little extra searching. Jim
  4. Really? Is this the current going rate at the LCS? You can still get them cheap on eBay if you snoop around enough... Jim
  5. Not graded but a recent MH surprise. Graded by them as VF. Interior cover is sweet.... Jim
  6. Would you say Chamber and Tower shouldn't get any respect? Jim
  7. Nice Charlton's This one wouldn't be for sale now would it? Nope...sorry it's my only copy. I got it off eBay as part of 11 Horror Charltons for a buck apiece so snoop around awhile and I'm sure another will show up. In fact, I've been extremely lucky recently getting higher grade horror Charltons off eBay for cheap. Jim
  8. Now that this thread is back on track, I thought I'd share some recent acquisitions... Creepy Things #1 Jim
  9. Hope nobody's hijacked the buyer's account..... That is insane.....just crazy.....how much total did he spend? Congrats Sterling! Jim He is on the boards. Crazy Buyer I think he is the one that 'bought' JP's ASM 1 He is buying up HG everything apparently. Ohhhh.....he's that guy.... Well more power to him I guess..... Jim

  11. I'd say it was the former as the appearance of the kids didn't really lessen the impact of what was being portrayed and some give the impression they could be the next target..... Jim
  12. I think this has more to do with the current horror craze buying occurring on early Bronze having collectors buying these later Bronze horror issues on the oft chance that the price rises will slip upwards than any sustain readjustment in price. Most of these issues are readily found in high grade (I know there are some exceptions). Once this becomes obvious, prices will slip back down. Probably at a mid-point between the two depending on the issue and what contained therein. Jim
  13. I think you nailed it.....the impression among collectors is the art in those early-mid 70s horror books is superior to the later issues. Sure the stories could be comparable but frankly, the art is where it's at in the current market. Charltons have the same perception problem, right or wrong. Hey...I'd be more than happy if all horror, to include 80s-85, became more collectible. The genre overall deserves it in my opinion as it's consistantly been better than it's superhero cousin. I don't think any rapid price rise is going to happen anytime soon though.... Jim
  14. On the otherhand, there aren't as many horror as superhero collectors either. Any drastic increase in HG 80-85 horror due to diminished supply would have to correspond with a major influx of new collectors to the genre. Since these later horror stories are routinely dismissed in comicdom as inferior to early-mid 70s stories, even among horror collectors, I don't see them getting hot anytime soon. Jim
